Visitor: This location is great for those who work downtown and don't want a long commute. It is close to everything; restaurants, stores, downtown on Seattle waterfront. Nearby Resident: If you like the outdoors then this is the place for you! Atlantic Station has different shops, eatery, and much more activities. During the winter, they set up icing and a village that is great to attend. Current Resident: Probably the most socially and economically 'diverse' of the downtown wealthy enclaves. Visually appealing, less dense than Uptown and less isolated than Tribeca, it is a goldilocks area if you want a mid-density residential area which can easily take you to any other part of the city by walking or public transit. Families are attracted by the playgrounds, waterfront parks, Chelsea Piers and a strong selection of high performing Public and Private schools. Young people enjoy the huge casual restaurant selection and proximity to Flatiron and Hells Kitchen. Downside is narrow sidewalks of high foot traffic corridors and areas around schools on 8th avenue get dirty and crowded with tourists, workers, residents and commuters competing for space. Current Resident: Living in Morningside Heights is a breath of fresh air from the commotion of downtown and midtown NYC. The neighborhood is full of small businesses and is incredibly well kept and it feels as if though you're living in a bubble. The atmosphere is generally calm and family-friendly but also rich in diversity. Current Resident: I have loved my time living in Point Breeze. It's a place where kindness is valued, and neighbors do whatever possible to assist each other. Growing up, I loved going to the playground that sat right across the street from my home. I met so many wonderful kids there, and some I am still friends with as of today. The neighborhood is filled with so many artistic people, and it's apparent even if you just walk around the block. You can see hand made murals on houses, and small art studios in people's garages. Current Resident: I've lived the majority of my life in this neighborhood and overall, it is fantastic. I graduated from City and Country Middle School and am entering the Abraham Joshua Heschel High School. The Village is overwhelmingly liberal and there are many LGBTQ+ people living around because the LGBT Center is in the village. Sometimes walking past that area I feel uncomfortable because there are many homeless people living on that street. However, everything else is incredible. Current Resident: I have lived in this neighborhood since I was two and it has changed a lot over the years. I have loved living here throughout my childhood. As a child, I enjoyed going to Rockefeller Park, partaking in neighborhood activities such as art and sports, and walking along the Hudson River. Over the years more stores and nearby tourist attractions have appeared which has made it an exciting place to live. Current Resident: It's a very certainly located neighborhood, you're close to midtown and downtown respectively. There's a vast variety of dining options as well as bar's, sometimes on the weekends the bar's can be annoying however. It can definitely be a friendly neighborhood with a "small town" feel to some extent, my local dry cleaner, deli, bar, restaurant and pharmacy all know me on a first name basis and generally know what I want without having to ask me. Former Resident: Without a doubt, probably one of the nicer (if not the nicest) neighborhood you could live in if you want to live right in the Cities. Current Resident: Regent Square is one of my favorite neighborhoods. It is set away from the city living and feels more like a suburb in close proximity to the city living style. The neighborhood still has a great selection of restaurants and coffee shops and is situated next to Frick Park. Pet owners are highly welcomed in this neighborhood. Also, the neighborhood has just amazing trees that makes it feel very nature-focused. It is also located near bus transportation and convenient to commuting to Downtown. Two major drawbacks are the public schools (K-12) and the high property taxes for an owner (about $5k per year per $100k in house value. Yes, expensive!) Safety is pretty decent, but I would make sure to lock your car doors every night. Even to this day (2018), items are stolen from vehicles in street-parking when doors are unlocked. Former Resident: Fantastic neighborhood in Brooklyn. I lived here for 5 years - before the Barclays center was built and moved out just after it opened. Once it opened, the neighborhood got busier and had more commercial activity. Some of this was good (more food and retail options) and some bad (traffic, pedestrian noise). Overall it was a lovely place to live full of nice tree lined streets, diverse and friendly people, and great food/drink options. Close to trains (subway and LIRR) and the park. Great for families. Not so great for parking. Felt very safe here and had no issues. Wish I could afford to buy something, but it’s just so expensive.... Read 18 reviews

Current Resident: Hyde Park reminds me of my home in Lubbock, TX where I grew up. There are trees everywhere, shading the streets and making walks super enjoyable, coffee, gelato, and juice shops around the neighborhood, and I feel generally safe walking around. There are limited bus routes through Hyde Park, but the ones that exist are easily accessible and just need more frequent buses. Current Resident: I'm a new resident at Hills Park. I purchased a home in the area at the end of 2018 and I love this place. The neighbors are friendly and the area is very safe. The home styles are wide-ranging from Craftsman to Modern and people have unique ways of designing their homes. Hills Park is close to lots of shopping districts including Atlantic Station, The Works, and more. Due to its proximity to both I-285 and I-75 along with several Marta stops and train stations, Hills Park is great for commuters. In terms of schooling, Hills Park is in one of the best public school districts within city of Atlanta limits. Food trucks frequent Hills Park and there are plenty of sidewalks for joggers and families to take strolls through the neighborhood. Hills Park is a Beltline Neighborhood and the city has plans for major investments in the area, therefore, huge growth it expected.... Read 1 review

Current Resident: Pros -Como Park! Plenty of recreation -Nestled between Mpls & StP -#3 Bus connects Mpls & StP -Protected bike path to the UofM <west & east> to Lake Phalen -Fewer lawns each year Cons: -Essentially a suburb; extremely low density. Few walkable shops. Nothing practical (grocery, post office, library, etc). We have 5 restaurants (3/5 are burger & fry joints), and 1 amazing coffee shop but no indoor seating. - Single-family zoned; little room for growth. - Car dependent; loud & polluted with exhaust, especially at the park - Only one protected bike path, no safe bike infra connecting N<>S - #83 Bus connecting N<>S has limited schedule - Lacks in diversity, culture & personality. Have you seen Pleasantville? While Como lacks in density, diversity and walkability, it exceeds in recreation opportunity! Whether it's the right neighborhood for you depends on your lifestyle.
