Current Resident: I have lived in Mantua for 23 years. It is a great neighborhood for all stages of life. It is easy to meet people through social media, the swim and tennis club, the parks or just by taking a walk! There are Bunko groups, bridge groups, tennis groups for all ages, gardening groups, the list is unending. The elementary school, middle school and high school are all within biking distance and walking distance for some. I feel like we are in a sweet spot for commuting as well. All the stores you need are right down the road, many safe places, and we are neighbors to cities that have many businesses within them. However, I will say that at certain times and places, Falls Church can be a dangerous area. There are many roads that have crosswalks but not light for cars. I loved the experience as Haymarket provided a busy environment with activities all around to be involved in. I attended Park Valley Church and was a devoted volunteer with the church, I worked at Chick-fil-A which provided a great avenue to learn customer service skills. I got my foot in the door in dentistry (my chosen career path) thanks to multiple businesses that opened their doors to me and offered employment and training. I enjoyed some of the many fitness facilities in the Haymarket area, and I regularly spent time with friends in the Gateway shopping center.
