Current Resident: Palm Valley is a nice community. It is a bit of a melting pot of people from across the United States who have come here. It is friendly and very safe. I would say it is one of the safer communities across the country. It is great that you are at the beach, can play golf and can travel to other cities/communities very easily. Current Resident: Located on the First Coast Beaches, Sawgrass is like the Goldilocks of locations... Not too hot like South Florida, not too cold like GA, and higher. We have top-rated schools for children, many places to dine, golf courses galore and great neighbors from around the country. This is Palm Beach without the stuffiness (and the prices). Homes run from lovely condos to multi-million dollar homes overlooking the ocean. The famous TPC Sawgrass is in the heart of the area. There are excellent hospitals in the area, a great orchestra in Jacksonville, and the Jacksonville sports teams. It is a short drive to St Augustine for shopping districts and history. Current Resident: Fleming Island offers a great combination of very nice houses with mostly paid off (CDD bonds) HOA amenities. HOA fees are very low compared to South Florida for example. Where we live, Eagle Harbor, we have a golf course with low green fees, two swim parks, boat docks and tons of playgrounds and parks. Fleming Island is also comparatively safe (especially compared to nearby Jacksonville). The island (peninsula really) also has a movie theatre, large box stores, a hospital (Baptist) and many restaurants. Homeowner and care insurance premiums are also very reasonable compared to other communities closer to the beach. The population does generally skew rather older but this has a charm all in itself. However, for those seeking a lot of nightlife and/or diversity and/or very progressive outlooks on life, will likely not enjoy it. Fleming Island generally is very patriotic and rather conservative. Current Resident: I just moved to Nocatee about a year ago, and I fell in love with it! It's a community with different, smaller sub-communities within it, and everyone that lives here is extremely friendly and welcoming. By living here, you gain access to many of its amenities, such as the gym, tennis, pickle ball & volleyball courts, and even the waterpark! You also are allowed to attend Nocatee's exclusive events, such as Food Truck Friday Night! One of my favorite things about living here is seeing everyone drive around on their golf carts (yes, this is a golf cart community!) Current Resident: It’s a nice calm place to live where the crime rate is very low. I enjoy living here, the people are pretty nice, and they have some fun activities to do around here. One thing I don’t like about this place is that everything closes so early. There are very few things open after midnight. But one thing I like is how close Cape Canaveral is to Port Canaveral so it makes it very easy to go on cruises which is quite nice. I like how nice the police officers are around here and I like how helpful they are. I like how reliable the bus transportation is and that you can always get an uber. I like how nice and comfortable the public library is. I like how safe the city is. I like all the restaurant options that the city has available. I like how nice the apartments and condos are that are available. I like how the beach is within walking distance. I like that there are so many hotels available in the city. Current Resident: I love Boca Raton! Everything from the atmosphere to the people; it is one of my favourite places in the world. Current Resident: I have grown up here all my life. It’s a wonderful place to rase kids. With three A rated elementary schools, a middle school, and high school. They even have 2 pools with water slides which would entertain your kids all summer. They also include a large soccer field and many more courts. Oakleaf Plantation also includes sports summer camps close by so you don’t have to drive far to get your kids to fun activities, and stay fit during the summer. Parent: the beaches are wonderful, the entertainment is wonderful, but the traffic is horrible. Seasonal residents clog the roads, doctors offices, and restaurants so locals have a difficult time getting to their jobs/work half the year. Current Resident: I moved to Oviedo Florida in 2017. We built our first home here in a gated community near A-rated schools. I attended Oviedo High School, which is known for Its academic performance. My school offered several AP classes and dual enrollment opportunities for me. In addition, Oviedo Is also becoming more urbanized. Historically, Oviedo was a small rural town near Orlando, FL. But, as land keeps developing, so does the community around it. There are several shops and restaurants along Mitchel Hammock rode and Alafaya. The Oviedo mall is even being remodeled to house hundreds of new modern-style apartments. Current Resident: It was rough living there during COVID, but the experience has been mostly positive. Neighbors keep to themselves but are friendly. People are pretty educated, keep up their properties, and don't allow kids/animals to run wild. The weather is great. Local public and private schools are top-notch. Despite some car break-ins, physical safety is good--no worries walking at night and no dogs chasing people. Violent crime is pretty rare and mostly around US1 at the gas stations.... Current Resident: S Patrick shores is part of the county even though mailing address is part of satellite beach. Taxes are lower than city of Satellite and homes are relatively affordable for a quiet beach town. Top rated schools and low crime. Current Resident: I like that Chuluota is a small town, its very peaceful here. The crime is minimal, and very friendly. Every tries to help each other out even if they aren't your neighbors. The town is quiet, with no heavy traffic noises at night. My husband grew up here and his grandfather helped build this town up, so we have a lot of history in this town. The thing I would improve about this town is to add drainage in the streets to help avoid flooding. I would also like them to add sidewalks for the safety of kids and dogs walking and playing. There is a really good mini store here, with a very friendly owner. He holds events during holidays for all residents. The VFW has plenty of entertainment including Bingo and Sunday breakfast. We also have a lovely peaceful park a couple miles down the road from us with a beautiful lake to kayak, swim or fish in.
