Current Resident: I have lived in Fern Park for ten years, and my experience with it has been very good. Even if you do not know all of your neighbors, they are always friendly when you walk, run, or bike by. It is also good part of town for taking walks, as there are several nearby trails, and relatively calm streets; there are typically also sidewalks. There is a decent variety of restaurants in the area, such as a Chick-fil-a, Chipotle, and a Checkers, but Fern Park is not the place to go if one desires upscale food. English Estates Elementary school is the primary school in Fern Park, and is centrally located. All in all, Fern Park is a safe, calm part of town that is not as expensive as Maitland proper. Former Resident: I grew up in Montverde, I learned to ride my bike in Montverde, I set up my first Lemonade stand in Montverde. Montverde is a small town to the west of Orlando. To me it feels like home, but to someone else it may just be a quaint little town. It is right outside of the business of Clermont and Minneola, but you don't get too much traffic. You can here the announcements of a Montverde Academy baseball game but it won't keep you up. Current Resident: We moved to Minneola April 2020. We were drawn to Clermont originally but found the best house/value in Minneola. With close proximity to the turnpike, Clermont, downtown/Waterfront Park, we love it here. We can get to all the theme parks and the airport within 40 minutes. We have every major chain restaurant that we love eating at. My 2 boys go to Minneola Charter school which has been a very positive experience. One is in the 8th grade and the other is in 4th grade. They have attended there for 3 years. They have felt very safe there and the teachers communicate very well to parents about bus times, drop off/pickup times, schoolwork, homework and projects. The school has plays, musicals and festivals throughout the year. Halloween festival is a big deal. The city recently invested money into our city park which has sports fields, a skate park, covered playground and outdoor exercise equipment with bathrooms and two dog parks. (large/small)... Current Resident: Tangelo Park is a culturally diverse community which includes an elementary school (brand new campus 2017), a YMCA (free membership for all residents), and a polling station. Several of the residents, myself included, have been here, or inherited a home from someone who has been here, since this neighborhood was built in the 1950's. This is a family community and there are lots of children of all ages. It is normal to see children playing outside, and jogging residents. This is a safe neighborhood, but occasionally there may be non-violent crime. Our neighborhood is on the bus route (Link 37), and conveniently close to both east and west I-4 entrances. We have a convenient store and a gas station located at both exits, and a Super Wal-Mart less than two miles away. Another benefit of being a Tangelo Park resident is that the Rosen Foundation offers scholarships for college to all high school seniors who live in Tangelo Park and attend Dr. Phillips High School.... Current Resident: Clermont has expanded a lot over the years that I have been living here. I like the community and the many different businesses you will find as you travel through our “mini city” and its neighbors. I like the closeness of everything. It makes it feel like Clermont is truly our own little corner of Florida. One thing that I would change in Clermont, is adding more affordable housing. Especially for students who are looking to move out of their childhood homes and start on their own. I would love to make my own roots in Clermont for a future home with a future family, but I would not be able to afford such luxury as of now. Current Resident: I have lived in Wedgefield for going on 10 years now. People are friendly and helpful especially during hurricanes. Our clubhouse is accessible and a social hub. They have bingo, karoke, and trivia nights. We have Halloween golf cart parades through the hood as well as at Christmas time. We have a park that also now has a dog park. We have a k-8 school in back. Nature wise we have lots of animals so watch out for wildlife thanks to the Hal Scott preserve in the back. It’s a utopia in orlando. Current Resident: Bithlo is a small quiet section of Orlando. You have friends good friends and family. You have outdoor activities one would be the wildlife at the Wetlands. There are quite a few job opportunities. We have a new soccer field along with the recreation center where the kids can play basketball, football, baseball, softball. Current Resident: Fairview Shores is a very friendly area of town. There are always new businesses and restaurants opening so its fun to hop around town and check out the local scene. It is safe enough to be outside in your own neighborhood either for an early morning run or a late night stroll. The only thing I might change is the traffic. Current Resident: Belle isle is a very well kept town. Construction being done to improve the streets. Great commute time and great homes in the area. It is near the orlando international airport. Safe city and law enforcement is fair and serve the community very well. A lot of supermarkets and gas stations near. Everything is at your disposal and is relatively close. Schools are very good in the area and are also relatively close. School buses and crossing guards are on majors streets like Hoffner ave and Conway ave. Not much of a night life but in orlando they have lots of stuff to do when it comes to night life. There are a lot a good restaurants in the area with very diverse choices. There are really nice parks and recreational things in the city. It’s a great city for family life and it is close to the airport for people who do a lot of traveling.
