Current Resident: Anthem is constantly building new housing developments for incoming residents. However, when it comes to businesses, there seems to be a lack of development to make Anthem a well-rounded community. Anthem has some of the most beautiful public parks in Clark County as well as a very family-friendly feel. Diversity seems to be a bit lacking, however, as most of my neighborhood, at least, is Caucasian. I would like to see a more bustling business community emerge here as well as more job opportunities for residents.... Read 7 reviews

Tons of parks & trails; shopping at the District with top tier retail & eateries; high-end GVR Casino w/adjacent amenities & theater; good mix of excellent public/charter/private schools; HPD police substation centrally located - extremely safe area; MultiGen Center; PV Library w/cafe; several higher-end gated communities retaining their value; 10 min to airport; 15 min to Strip, but no spillover; and, drumroll please, the Dollar Loan Center which provides AHL action, indoor arena football, G-League basketball, NCAA tournaments, and an impressive family-friendly sports bar/restaurant. Find a house within walking distance to most of the above in GVR, and you have just scored BIG TIME. There are many nice communities in LV/Henderson, but none can deliver all of the above...... Niche User: The area where I live, Henderson, is my favorite place in the whole world. I have an amazing family, go to an amazing school and in Henderson with it being so close to Las Vegas, about 10 minutes away, there is infinite things you can do. My family and I always go to a place called The District. It is a very fun and comfortable place filled with shops, restaurants, salons, etc. Aside from that, my personal neighborhood is very lovely and so close to my school and many grocery stores, restaurants, smoothie shops, and so much more. This is the best neighborhood in the Las Vegas Area. Everyone is so much nicer here than in California. I may have just moved here in March, but I have considered this my home since 2014. Niche User: I rarely have any issues in our neighborhood, but just recently we did have two policemen knocking on our door late at night. One of our neighbors called 911 due to a couple of strange men knocking on their door around 10p.m. claiming that their car broke down and started asking weird questions about our neighborhood. The police showed up immediately but by the time they arrived, the men had disappeared and no vehicle anywhere near seemed to be broken down. The police knocked on our door because we forgot to close our garage door and they just wanted to inform us of what had happened and also to make sure that nothing had been taken from our garage.... Current Resident: There are two schools of thought here in Summerlin. The more elite call this place is Slummerlin, and those who don’t live in Summerlin and don’t understand it’s unique culture, call it Snobberlin. This is an incorporated town by Howard Hughes, lots of weird rules and restrictions with HOA. Beautifully maintained from head to toe. Nice parks but nowhere in Las Vegas is very family friendly. No dog parks in Summerlin. Many golf courses. Beautiful homes, but high cost of housing. Nice location away from the inner city, growing rapidly, traffic is getting worse. Lots of jobs. Very limited childcare, expensive. Schools here in Nevada are some of the worst in the nation. There are some private schools here in Summerlin but honestly they don’t rank very well either. Probably everywhere but, the kids are doing a lot of drugs. Homeless people even here in Summerlin. Some people are wonderful and others are snobby. There is not a lot of crime around my part of town, so it is very reassuring knowing that I live in such a safe place.
