Current Resident: I have lived here since 2014. I like the area due to diversity, the ability to find newer homes for a great price and the rural suburban feel. I would consider living here to be like a bedroom community. It is quiet, people look out for each other. You feel safe overall. There are walking trails, bike trails and various parks. The township also made a new walking and biking trail along side the major streets which is also a plus. There are also a few stores that are close by with some other stores planning to come to the area. There are various events held here like Jazz fest, Art fairs, trips for senior citizens and sports. Police and fire are also very responsive. Most people also keep up their properties. Property values have also increased while living here. Overall, I feel safe. Current Resident: Muskegon is amazing. This wasn't always the case, but in the last 10 years there have been substantial upgrades! Downtown is fun with 3 or 4 breweries, 2 distilleries, sports bar, convention center, duckpin bowling, several new restaurants, and lots of new apartments going in. Pere Marquette beach (Lake Michigan) is breathtaking and now has a one-of-a-kind restaurant/beach bar called the Deck... Indoor and outdoor seating, 3 or 4 outdoor bars, a band shell where you can dance in the sand, etc. all within view of two lighthouses and 180-degree, panoramic views of Lake Michigan. You can even beach your boat nearby in the shallow, crystal-clear water and walk the beach or party with friends. Lots of great museums, arts, and great schools. Definitely recommend living here.... Current Resident: I have been living in Pittsfield Township for 3 years. Also lived in Ann Arbor for 2 years. Both are great places to live. Pittsfield is a 5 min drive to south from Ann Arbor and 5 min drive (or less) from Saline. Most of Pittsfield Township residents have Ann Arbor mailing addresses. Their school districts are either Ann Arbor or Saline, and both are top-rated. I personally prefer living in Pittsfield over AA because property tax was MUCH LESS while I could still enjoy the proximity to Ann Arbor. And I think Pittsfield is more family friendly, quieter and more spacious compared with Ann Arbor. Of course there were very nice neighborhoods in AA, but there are some shady spots as well, especially around where college kids live. Just look up criminal reports. Pittsfield Township cares a lot about its residents. Parks and trails are abundant and very well maintained. I feel very close to nature. Overall, I am extremely happy with where I live.... Current Resident: Romulus is a rather large city. It is full of produce farms and greenhouses. The community is full of different ethnicities, but everyone I have experienced has been pleasant. Romulus also has one of the largest airports, which provides many jobs. Romulus is definitely a working community, there are trucking companies of all sorts on every road, whether it is Amazon or American Freight Inc.. Romulus is home to the working class and has recently updated its downtown area. With this boost, many have been attracted. Romulus also has many parks, which two include dog parks. Former Resident: If you have to live in the Detroit area, Novi is by far, the best place to live. Everything is nearby. Neighborhoods are safe and very pleasant. Drivers are courteous. Current Resident: Lincoln Park, Michigan is a very small and yet charming city located in the Detroit Metropolitan area. It offers a unique blend of urban and suburban living, making it an deal place to live for those who want to be close to a major city without the high cost of living that Detroit suffers from in well developed safe areas. Lincoln Park also has a strong sense of community, with plenty of local events and festivals. The city has several parks and recreation areas, including Council Point Park. Current Resident: Westland’s defining quality is its family-friendly atmosphere and structural layout. I have lived here all my life and found it to be safe, comfortable, diverse, and clean. There are many excellent restaurants, parks, grocery stores, and schools within walking distance of the suburban neighborhoods. Commuting is also fast, as most essential buildings are nearby. Every Michigander knows that our roads are “Michigan roads.” For that reason, I would love to see the streets repaved to make driving less hazardous and damaging to car tires. Another beneficial change would be to invest more in public schools. Recently, there have been remarkable renovations to the academic buildings. While this is fantastic, supporting faculty financially and increasing resource funding, such as for new books, materials, and educational opportunities, would improve the learning experience of all students.
