Current Resident: This is a beautiful little oasis of an idyllic, walkable village-town in what it otherwise a fairly economically depressed area along the Ohio River Valley. I've been living here for going on 5 years and I absolutely love the neighborhood. People are friendly, smile, and say hello. The local business community thrives and there are public events like street fairs and crawls all the time. It's not a particularly diverse area, though most residents seem educated. There are two amazing mid-range priced cafes, but the higher end restaurants can be hit and miss--two of them closed in the last year alone. The only major downsides are that the cost of living is on the high end, and public transportation is pretty much limited to one bus route that goes from Ambridge to the Allegheny transit station in the North Side.
