Niche User: It is a very nice area in which I live in. Everything I really need is conveniently placed around me, I am close to my job, and the neighborhood is very nice. There is not a lot of crime around my part of town, so it is very reassuring knowing that I live in such a safe place. Everyone in the neighborhood is also very friendly which puts me at ease when I decide to go outside and walk my dog or play with my siblings. Current Resident: This is seriously the best area in Vegas now. Henderson is now aging and has run out of room for new developments (not to mention that the mountains on our side of town are much prettier!). I'm surrounded by horse ranches, lots of nature, empty space, and new buildings/infrastruture/developments. People are nice and respectful here. Summerlin is the #1 target for criminals because of it's high-profile (not to mention filled with angry/pill-popping/drunk types). I'm so glad that I moved here instead of Summerlin or Henderson!... Current Resident: I've been living in Whitney and it's been a good experience because there isn't bad things that are happening and its a safe area to live. I really like how there's stores and restaurants close by. My family and I, sometimes walk to the store and it feels safe to do so. Current Resident: I love North Las Vegas! Everything is so convenient! I am 2 minutes from Aliante hotel and casino and 10 minutes from Sante Fe station. The parks near by are amazing. There is Nature park on Aliante Parkway. They have a beautiful waterfall that is breathtaking! Also, they have a dinosaur dig area for kids to explore digging for fossils. This park also has tennis and volleyball areas. Family's are always there enjoying the amenities. The waterfall has been a popular backdrop for prom and homecoming pictures. Current Resident: My home town of Las Vegas Nevada has a unique culture as well as inclusivity for those who may not otherwise not “fit in”. Vegas has a dominant presence of individuals who are a part of the LGBTQIA+ community. I love that there are places such as bars, coffee shops, and specialty stores that are widely accepting of alternative lifestyles. All over town you can find these type welcoming communities that bring together people with similar interests. We have exciting events and locations ranging from Anime themed restaurants to goth/punk clothing stores! Although there are many positives about Las Vegas, I would like to see change with how we approach homelessness. It’s very common to see people on streets with cardboard signs. Many are without a home and in dire need of shelter and access to healthcare. Our public shelters are crowded and the lines are long with people waiting to receive food. Niche User: Las Vegas has become a home and family to be all in itself. Because I've went to three different high schools, (Centennial, Silverado & Bonanza, respectively) I've gotten to know all parts of the city (Henderson included into Las Vegas) and seen how it differentiates from other sides of town. If you pick a right place, Vegas is not as bad a city as some people claim it to be. If anything, it gives you a lot more options and opportunities that you would actually never find in smaller/other cities in the United States. It's fairly clean for how many drunks and wanderers there are, but overall the atmosphere is a civilized society where you can get to know people from all over the world and encounter personalities you would never expect to meet.... I have an amazing family, go to an amazing school and in Henderson with it being so close to Las Vegas, about 10 minutes away, there is infinite things you can do. My family and I always go to a place called The District. One of our neighbors called 911 due to a couple of strange men knocking on their door around 10p.m. claiming that their car broke down and started asking weird questions about our neighborhood. The police showed up immediately but by the time they arrived, the men had disappeared and no vehicle anywhere near seemed to be broken down.
