Featured Review: Former Resident says University City is my favorite place I have ever lived!Pros:• Feels like a small town in some ways but all of the amenities of a big city• Beautiful tree lined streets • So many local businesses to support• Lots of cute, local parks • Very close to Forest Park, The Loop, downtown Clayton, Brentwood, etc.• Still very cheap for being in an urban center• Fall and spring are wonderful• Close to rural towns and a lot of hiking trails• Sense of community and the community is very diverse• Not a lot of traffic and street parking is easy to find• Homes are so charming and each has a different style• Food is amazing and many different types of cuisines• U City has its own distinct vibe from the rest of STL• Residents are liberalCons:• MO is a conservative state and so statewide if you are a minority, you are not protected very much • Winters in MO can be brutal• There is quite a bit of crime that happens in the surrounding areas• Could see it becoming unaffordable soon.
