#21 Most Diverse Places to Live in New York City Area
Current Resident: I grew up in Hackensack my entire life, so I would say that I am pretty well-acquainted with the city. I was born at the Hackensack University Medical Center and watched as it soon became the best hospital in New Jersey.
Some things that I am very fond about the city are its variety of restaurants, diversity of the population, and proximity to malls and big cities (including New York City). Transportation is very accessible, as we have NJ Transit, trains, Ubers, etc. For malls, we have the Bergen Town Center, Paramus Park, Garden State Plaza, Willowbrooke, and the new American Dream Mall. These make for a comfortable residential area. To elaborate, the Hackensack Public School system includes students coming from all backgrounds, and sitting in a class will further prove this point. The city, just like the state, is pretty democratic (political-wise). Overall, I would definitely recommend this city as a residential option for anyone considering moving into Bergen County.
