Nearby Resident: Lafayette is one of the coolest places to live by far. Is it extremely eclectic, composed of southern hospitality, faith and morals, but also has a big city feel with hustle and bustle and plenty of things to do at any given time. The restaurants are great - it's never hard to find something to eat. Lafayette is great for the young and old and everyone in between. It is the perfect size - easy to commute but never feeling too petite or suffocating. The schools are decent at best, leaving some families to decide to homeschool. Parks and recreation are very nice, and still improving. While crime does certainly have its presence, it is still a comfortable place to leave without having to worry too much in majority of areas. Current Resident: I can't express my experience in past tense since I still live in Carencro, and have been since the age of 8. Last year I gained my license, but noticed that there are no bike lanes nor enough bus stops to save gas. I enjoy the community and Madigras events. The library is small but lovely to visit. The roads aren't extremely rough unless the back roads are taken. The ditches aren't filled with trash and the cattle you occasionally see compliments the view. There aren't enough nighttime activities nor youthful hotspots, but the park isn't a bad replacement. The town is the right type of quiet and there are enough rural /suburban neighborhoods to even things out. Gloria switch, a road to helps transport you anywhere can bring you to all types of food joints. . It's starting to grow and I can appreciate when I see volunteers and men in orange jackets picking up trash in the ditches. I believe in Carencro and will give it time to prosper!... Read 35 reviews

Current Resident: Rayne, LA is known as "The Frog Capital of the World." It has a population not exceeding 10,000 and it a very small, quaint hometown in Southern Louisiana. I believe the history of Rayne is very interesting, traveling back to when we were identified as "Poupeville," shipping tens of thousands of frogs all over the world from our one little train depot. But traveling through the City now, a lot of it's history is removed. Where once was old family convenient stores are now multi-state chain stores. As is anywhere in the world today, it is no longer to safe to walk the streets alone at night.
