#16 Most Diverse Places to Live in Allegheny County
Current Resident: It's an old area that gets a bad rap, but people will talk your ear off and give you the shirt off their back. There is a lot of spirit and pride here. I see a movement to modernize (not gentrify), with the Roxian Theatre, Black Forge Coffee, the Parkway Theater, and Abjuration Brewing all becoming established.
Pros: An easy 4 mile drive to downtown, quick accessibility to shopping areas in Robinson and Ross Townships. Many areas in Stowe Township have affordable and well-built brick houses. My neighborhood is super quiet. Also home to Pierogies Plus, Mancini's Bakery, Doughboys Pizza, and Ricci's sausage. Enough said. Cons: School district is struggling. Like everywhere, there is crime. I'd say it's mostly centered in the lower areas and seems to be drug & petty theft related mostly.
