Current Resident: I live in Rancho San Antonio Neighborhood. Neighbors are lovely people who volunteer a lot of their time to this neglected historic neighborhood. It is riddled in crime and blight, but many neighborhood groups advocate for change, and it shows. It's lovely to live here due to the geographic location. Rancho San Antonio Neighborhood is minutes away from Alameda, Downtown Berkeley, Emeryville, San Leandro, etc. The Rancho San Antonio Park is a historic gem, needs TLC, but slowly being revived due to local advocacy volunteer groups; like "Friends of San Antonio Park," "Neighborhood Crime Prevention Committee," "San Antonio Neighborhood Safety Coalition," "EBAYC," "Trybe," "Adopt a Spot" volunteers, "Keep Oakland Beautiful," "Trees of Oakland," and more. This neighborhood is very diverse, but with the right amount of push from the city, we make it a safe and beautiful place to live. In summary, the geographic location, weather, people are great.
