Former Resident: Loved it, I lived in Hoke for 8 years. Its a very military town that has so much to offer its residence. Its very close to Myrtle Beach if you want sun and sand or the same distance you can end up in the mountains in Ashville. The schools are rated higher than other counties in NC. Current Resident: I first visited Mecklenburg County when I came to Charlotte for a summer enrichment program for Wake Forest. It was a great introduction to the city. I visited Nascar and the White Water Center. My mom took a different job with her company and moved to Charlotte in 2021. There are a ton of things for young people to do. You have Carowinds (Six Flags), Optimist Hall to try Charlotte's favorite restaurants, No Da, Plaza Midwood and Camp North End just to name a few. You can't go wrong with Freedom Park and many other parks in the area. You have a wide array of gyms and outdoor clubs to join. Current Resident: I first want to acknowledge how diverse it is in Cumberland County. Since Fayetteville is a military town there are always new people coming into Cumberland County. With how diverse Cumberland County is, you're introduced to various faiths, traditions, and cultures that allow you to be conscious of what is out there in the world. The only downside of living near a military town is that your childhood friends will move away if they're apart of a military family, other than that Cumberland County is a good place to live. High School is very impressive and beneficial in Cumberland County. There are school rivalries but everybody is still friends outside of school, even friends that go to other schools.... Current Resident: Perfect small town USA. Everyone knows everybody, and we help each other out all the time. We've had tornados, hurricanes, and floods throughout the years, and no matter what, neighbors love each other in times of need. Current Resident: I have lived here for most of my life and it has been a good experience. Vance County is changing in terms of bringing new business in the area, but they lack in jobs related to things such as technology, warehouse facilities, and more. The majority of these businesses are related to the fast food or retail industry. As far as things to do in Vance County it definitely lacks in the attraction section. There is only an outdoor theater at the moment and an arcade-like place to enjoy entertainment-wise. The only reason people stop in Vance County is their traveling from out of state and will typically get gas, food, or stay at a hotel overnight. There is not much hospitality within the county and I would like to see improvements in that area. As far as the schools are concerned they are good, however, teachers come and go. I do think that the school board can do better in terms of making the proper decisions when it comes to students and staff.... Read 12 reviews

Current Resident: Great public schools and wonderful churches. Friendly people! Schools K-12 were updated for extra safety after Sandy Hook event. Current Resident: This is a rapidly growing community with plenty of fun, safe opportunities to explore! There are parks, restaurants, shopping, nightlife, churches, community events, and much more. It is a short distance from Raliegh and Durham but is still small-town living. There is a perfect harmony of activities for all ages, cultures, and backgrounds. Current Resident: I moved to this county when I was roughly 2 years old with my family from Connecticut, and I would say that I have loved living here since we've come down here. We've also never had any serious problems while living here. Because of the city I lived in, I had to transfer to the school my parents thought would suit me better, and I've had to transfer to the relative middle and high schools every time.
