Current Resident: Nice quiet town and a really nice place to raise a family. The only downsides to this town are as follows nothing to do not even hunter park because the city did not keep it up. Which brings me to the next problem is the city of hobart. The powers that be are not interested in fixing nothing not parks not road and not water lines the city has put so many bandaids on the water system it has a main break almost regularly which causes muddy water getting into your water lines and ultimately your hot water heater which will shorten its life span now the other issue is jobs yes the town is slowly improving but not fast enough but the weed shops have exploded let me tell ya but yet no jobs I mean I guess its okay for hobart to have God I bet atleast 6 weed shops but yet a town the size of clinton which is 3 times bigger only as like one or two so it makes it seem like the powers that be are only interested in the drug trade in this town and its sad because it couldn't be further from truth... Current Resident: It is a small town with alot of restuarants! It has a 24 hour WalMart, but has 2 smaller grocery stores. Everyone waves, and they are cordial. Somewhat diverse in race, especially since it is in the southeastern corner of Oklahoma. It is surrounded by lakes, and is only about 10 minutes from Hochatown and Broken Bow lake which has wonderful scenery, Hiking, Ziplining, Duck Rides, Petting Zoos, Go carts, Mini golf, fishing, etc. It really does offer a lot of outdoor activities for families, it has a beautiful Golf Course, and another beautiful Golf Course in Hochatown. The local museum has family friendly and individual workshops, most are free. Most of the churches are very active within the community. In just a short 45 minute drive you can be in Texarkana, and on a plane or shopping at the mall. You can take scuba lessons in Broken Bow, or flying lessons at the Idabel Airport. Current Resident: An Oil Boom town that at one time was the third most producing oilfield in the world. Currently the town is beginning to re-invent itself with many opportunities on the horizon! The people here are resilient and most noticeably, friendly. There are suprisingly many things in this town to keep oneself entertained. History museums, mansions, world class “children’s museum”, downtown district. Outdoor enthusiasts can surely find something to keep themselves engaged. A school system that has a long outstanding reputation for excellence! The kindergarten school “BLS” is the top reading school in the state for that age group. And Seminole is one of a handful of schools that individualize education for each student. Of course a school would not be complete if did not offer high performing athletics. Current Resident: I like living in Sayre because it is a small town where everybody knows you and your family. It is a very safe place to raise children. When my children were growing up I didn't have to worry about where they were because I would get a phone call from a friend if they saw my child somewhere they didn't think I would approve of and I would do the same thing for other people.
