Current Resident: I would like to see more funding for public schools. When I moved from Maryland to West Virginia, I saw an immediate difference when it came to my education. My classmates were behind in the curriculum, and we were taught the bare minimum. There was not much for afterschool programs and sports. Current Resident: As my hometown, I love this place. It's a town located on the map between Martinsburg and Winchester, two larger cities. I wish there were more attractions though. Also, the traffic is very slow and we currently have one roundabout, with three more on the way. There are way too many wrecks on the roundabout and there are no cameras when the wrecks occur so this affects a lot of people! Other than that, it's a bustling town with (mostly) kind citizens.... Current Resident: I have lived in the greater Martinsburg area for most of my life. Even though it keeps growing, Martinsburg still has the small home town feel. The scenery is absolutely stunning. We have beautiful mountains, trails, and playgrounds. We are also near historic civil war parks such as Antietam and Gettysburg. We are close to Shepherd University and Blue Ridge Technical and Community College. Martinsburg has something for everyone. And finally, the cost of living is affordable. The area is growing though, as are the areas around Hedgesville. New home construction is very much on the rise because of our proximity to the NOVA area & our location between NY and DC....
