Current Resident: I always tell people The Woodlands is not an exciting place to live, but it is a nice place to live. When people from the greater Houston area hear "The Woodlands," they think of The Woodlands Mall. This is the most popular part of town, and it is conveniently located close to the freeway. The adjacent Market Street is an upscale shopping center that looks prettiest at night. Newcomers always point out the excess greenery and ask how we locals can find anything, but I have no problem with all the trees because the town is so well-organized. There are several zoning laws that ensure business and residential areas are clearly separated. There are plenty of franchise restaurants along the town's major streets. There are local churches and well-maintained parks hidden in every neighborhood. A common complaint is that residential streets do not have sidewalks. My least favorite part about TW is that it is a comedy desert. The closest comedy club is a 35-minute drive from the edge of town.... Read 510 reviews

Current Resident: Living in Southlake is very nice and is the epitome of the basic upper middle class and higher class suburban. I like the town's diversity and acceptance of others. There is a lot to do including many shopping centers, restaurants, and town events. There is a lot of town spirit and support for schools and sports teams. I like that the whole town comes out for Friday night lights and high school football even if you don't know anyone playing you are there to cheer on the Dragons. Another great thing about Southlake is the cleanliness and attention to detail on every holiday. The whole city decorates and lights up during the holiday season and is very celebratory of all holidays including Christmas, Hanuka, and Holi Festival. One thing I would like to see improved is the overall kindness of the town and law enforcement. Law enforcement is rarely available. Current Resident: Frisco, Texas has been a home to me since I was three years old. As an American-Muslim, and Pakistani-American, it has always been hard to find people who are of the same religion and ethnicity as me. When my family and I came to Frisco we were able to find a welcoming Muslim community from which we could find friends and learn. The South Asian community is also large, and because of this, my family has been able to create life long friendships with these families. Frisco has nice schools as well, and acts as an overall safe environment to raise a family. If you are looking for diversity and a fruitful city to live in, I suggest Frisco, Texas! Current Resident: University Park is the perfect mix. It is affluent, but not as flashy and gaudy as Highland Park. It is very safe at all hours. It is super close to Uptown and extremely easy to access all parts of Dallas in under 20 minutes even in traffic. One of my favourite parts is that it actually has a “pulse”. I used to live in Bluffview where you don’t know if your neighbours are alive or dead. It felt scarily quiet, and I didn’t know anybody there. Current Resident: This is an awesome neighborhood with lots of families out and about daily. The people are friendly and schools are top notch - my kids went to Horn ES, Pin Oak MS and Bellaire HS - all great schools! We love the nearby pools, doggie park, playgrounds and nature discovery center - everyone comes here for great events such as the pumpkin festival, bird watch, and kids love the little animals and discovery rooms. We enjoy kicking ball at Evelyn's Park, plus there's a cute little restaurant and outdoor seating, and weekend life music. It's all within walking distance from Bellaire's Southdale where we are. Current Resident: It is a small community in the heart of San Antonio right next to downtown. It has its own school district with 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school. Speaking from experience, it can be hard as a kid moving into Alamo Heights as a middle schooler or high schooler because everyone already knows everyone else. The public schools are fantastic though and you have close access to most day to day needs, from groceries, to dentist, and everything in between. The community is not very diverse and is predominately wealthy white families. Within Alamo Heights there are quieter areas with older population, areas of younger families, and even vibrant college housing near the University of Incarnate Word. This is an older area of San Antonio and so many of the houses are older, but more houses are built and remodeled every day. Current Resident: Woodway is a beautiful, oak tree-filled town on the outskirts of Waco, TX. We are also surrounded by other wonderful, small towns, which all come together to form one school district, which I think is the best around. We are in close proximity to anything we might need living here and surrounded by neighbors we love. Situated next to Lake Waco and having so many wooded areas, we often find families of deer in our yards! We also have road runners galore and even used to have a Road Runner Festival on Memorial weekend before Covid. I hope we get to have that again one day. We also have Carleen Bright Arboretum, which is a beautiful place to hike and see trees and flowers where people from all around enjoy nature, garden shows, and even get married. The community center is a major hub where so many of us got our start in sports - soccer, football, baseball, and vollyball.
