Current Resident: I love Chesterbrook. It is such an awesome community! The schools are great and the people here are lovely and nice. There are so many opportunities here such as jobs. The communities are very diverse and I find it very family friendly. Thought the pricing here is a little expensive, it is definitely worth it! Chesterbrook schools include Conestoga High School, and TE Middle School, both are great public schools and ranked fairly high in the country. Current Resident: Ardmore has been a wonderful place to be raised. There is so much to do in and around Ardmore. The neighborhoods are quiet, which is quite nice. The neighbors and friends you meet while living in Ardmore are the best! It is super close to Suburban Square, a shopping center filled with a diverse range of stores. Additionally, it's only a 25-minute drive from Philly, which makes it extremely easy when you need to take a trip into Philly. Current Resident: Swarthmore is a delightful, safe town in which to raise a family. The schools are excellent, many of the homes historic, and it is just a quick ride to Media or to Philadelphia. Being near Swarthmore College and its beautiful campus is obviously a huge plus. Contrary to the report on this site, the folks who live in Swarthmore tend to lean very liberal. Current Resident: Exton is a great place to live and work! It is just far enough from the main line that the houses are affordable and you get alot for your money. It is close to the Exton mall and a wide variety of store and restaurants. Mix of modern and historical architecture. The Chester Valley trail is right near by and enjoyable for hiking and walking. Current Resident: I moved to Berwyn PA from abroad 3 years ago. I didn’t mean to stay much longer than that but the area draws you in . The school system is great, commute into Philly on the Septa is super convenient. Area feels safe and ha a great selection of local bars and restaurants. With I think the biggest shopping mall in the US 10 mins away and yet you are living in a leafy suburb and can go walking and running around the beautiful streets. Current Resident: The best community for walkability, outstanding schools, culture, cute downtown, proximity to large center city, safety, community amenities, local history, Publix transportation and neighborliness. And for all that, it is relatively affordable. I can get to New York in less than 2 hours, DC in less than 3 hours and downtown Philly in less than 20 minutes by public transportation I walk to from my home or anywhere in Narberth.4th of July fireworks, Halloween parade and other Americana events. Current Resident: My wife and I have lived in Conshy for almost 4 years now! We absolutely love living here. Conshy has a bustling city feel with a outdoorsy suburban vibe. You get the best of both world while paying low taxes and having a top tier school district. The resturant scene and small town feel was another reason why we gravitated towards the area!There are endless restuarants to choose from and there are new "ghost kitchens" poping up all over. Most if not all of the resurants and stores are pet friendly which is a plus. The accessibiliy to the local trails and parks is another selling point for the area. I enjoy riding my bike along the scenic schuylkill river trail to Valley Forge Park (10 miles up and 10 miles back). Lastly, I am excited for the redevelopment of the waterfront and the new train station. Mixing the historic buildings with the new will definetely reshape city scape of Conshy. Current Resident: Jenkintown is a wonderful community to grow up in! Pros: - fun traditions/events like the pumpkin drop, the arts festival - well established and cute downtown area - shorter train ride to center city than many inner-city neighborhoods like Mt Airy and Chestnut Hill (from our station it takes 20-35 minutes depending on where you're going) - economically diverse - lots of different housing options costing anywhere from $90,000 all the way to maybe $800,000. We have apartments, rowhomes, twins, and singles of all sizes. Cons: - Jenkintown isn't especially diverse racially. However, I've seen it get more and more diverse in the years I've been here.... Current Resident: Nether Providence is a small town about 30 minutes away from Philadelphia. There aren't many huge attractions in Nether Providence, however, there are still many opportunities to have fun. Nether Providence may be small, but almost everyone knows everyone. You're bound to see at least one person from school where you're at, which personally isn't a bad thing. There are a lot of cute little shops, and attractions around here. There's at least one or two carnivals that happen every year in the summer, lots of fun bike rides, and it's overall a very fun and nice comfy atmosphere to live in. Current Resident: Plymouth Meeting is a small town. For me, it's close to a lot of stores and the highways and turnpike is very close. I would like to raise a family in this community, however, the market to purchase a home in this area is very high. Hopefully with the years to come the market will become more affordable for minorities. Also, the apartment developments are raising the price of living but not upgrading. So, it seems that we as renters are paying for the area rather than our actual home. Hopefully this improves over the next few years, other than these few issues it is a great community and has a lot of opportunity for children to participate in extracurricular activities and grow.... Current Resident: I have been a resident of Upper Uwchlan Township for 16 years and love it! Easy access to gorgeous parks, a variety of restaurants and stores, excellent libraries and schools makes raising a family here a wonderful experience. We are excited about the township trail system currently underway- providing a safe environment for children to ride bikes and connect to friends in different neighborhoods. Marsh Creek lake has provided so many memorable and fun activities - sailing camp, boating, fishing, walking trails, and incredible views! Current Resident: Pike Creek is an awesome area! One of the safest places in DE if you check crime maps and very centrally located. The landscape is gorgeous and open with rolling hills and four full seasons. There are tons of walking, biking, hiking trails in the area. White Clay Creek state park is walkable from my house, but also nearby to Middle Run, Newark Reservoir, Paper Mill Park, and plenty more. There's a bike trail that will take you directly to main street Newark in 4 miles. We are close to University of Delaware, but far enough to have some quiet. Lots of homes here are on 1/2 acre. The food in Delaware is average compared to other states. For groceries, you can make the drive to Trader Joes, Costco, and there is supposed to be a Wegmans coming, but no idea when. Proximity wise, Kennett square and Longwood Gardens PA just 15 minutes away. Trolley Square Wilmington 20 minutes away. Amtrak Wilmington can take you to NYC or DC in under 2 hours (check out the Acela line).... Read 19 reviews
