Current Resident: I have lived in N. Texas for almost two decades and five of those years have been in Coppell. Coppell is a very diverse, forward thinking, safe and comfortable town in the middle of the DFW metroplex. Because of its location, we are close to major airports, sporting events, concerts, lakes, and fantastic cultural venues/events. Our parks in Coppell are very well maintained with several miles of great walking/biking paths. The City of Coppell does a fantastic job of providing excellent customer service, hospitality, and amenities to the citizens. I echo many of comments here about the school district...it is excellent! Current Resident: Living in Southlake is very nice and is the epitome of the basic upper middle class and higher class suburban. I like the town's diversity and acceptance of others. There is a lot to do including many shopping centers, restaurants, and town events. There is a lot of town spirit and support for schools and sports teams. I like that the whole town comes out for Friday night lights and high school football even if you don't know anyone playing you are there to cheer on the Dragons. Another great thing about Southlake is the cleanliness and attention to detail on every holiday. The whole city decorates and lights up during the holiday season and is very celebratory of all holidays including Christmas, Hanuka, and Holi Festival. One thing I would like to see improved is the overall kindness of the town and law enforcement. Law enforcement is rarely available. Current Resident: Frisco, Texas has been a home to me since I was three years old. As an American-Muslim, and Pakistani-American, it has always been hard to find people who are of the same religion and ethnicity as me. When my family and I came to Frisco we were able to find a welcoming Muslim community from which we could find friends and learn. The South Asian community is also large, and because of this, my family has been able to create life long friendships with these families. Frisco has nice schools as well, and acts as an overall safe environment to raise a family. If you are looking for diversity and a fruitful city to live in, I suggest Frisco, Texas! Current Resident: University Park is the perfect mix. It is affluent, but not as flashy and gaudy as Highland Park. It is very safe at all hours. It is super close to Uptown and extremely easy to access all parts of Dallas in under 20 minutes even in traffic. One of my favourite parts is that it actually has a “pulse”. I used to live in Bluffview where you don’t know if your neighbours are alive or dead. It felt scarily quiet, and I didn’t know anybody there. Current Resident: Moving from a smaller town in the midwest, to Plano, Texas has been one of the best decisions that I've made so far. The people here in Plano are so diverse, and so hospitable! I've encountered so many people in public who have been so warm and welcoming; it's honestly a culture shock. I would also say that, overall, the city of Plano is fairly clean and safe. In the previous town that I lived in, potholes were rampant, and the roads needed servicing. As mind-boggling as this may sound, I have not encountered a pothole yet (my car thanks me)! Living in Texas has been quite the joy, and there's an abundance of amazing towns and cities; however, Plano has it's own je ne sais quoi that makes it stand out. Current Resident: The community is generally very welcoming and kind. The town itself is pretty with a good amount of green spaces and trees. There are plenty of parks with beautiful trails within walking distance of my house. Many parks have multiple playgrounds very suitable and safe for children. Many parks also have public basketball and tenis courts. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets within a comfortable distance from home. The roads throughout the town are very large; however, even with this traffic can still be heavy. Flower Mound is not super pedestrian friendly with crosswalks being few and far between, but the sidewalks are generally very nice. Current Resident: I have been at Sunnyvale School District from kindergarten year to my Senior year. Growing up here I have made some of my closest friends. During my time at the high school, I've had an amazing learning experience. The teachers constantly work with me, no matter how many days I show up for tutoring. In addition, I was pushed to reach my full potential and feel deeply prepared for college. In addition, each of the programs thrive. The students put in full amounts of effort to succeed. Current Resident: Living in Keller, TX as a college senior is pretty chill. It's a safe, suburban area with great coffee shops for late-night study sessions and parks for weekend hangouts. Being close to Fort Worth, you've got a nice mix of quiet suburbia and big city vibes. You probably wouldn't know the exact stats, but you'd definitely feel the affluence around you. As for college, Tarrant County College is a solid choice nearby. It's affordable and has a pretty liberal admission policy, so getting in isn't a headache. Class sizes are decent too, so you can expect some good interaction with professors. You might also know some folks who go to University of North Texas in Denton, another great school not too far away. All in all, Keller's a pretty good spot for a college senior. Fairview is really a great small town with incredible access to the metroplex and immediate access to just about everything you could want or need within surrounding suburbs.
