Current Resident: Williamsville is a well-taken care of village with plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, gyms, parks, and other things to do. Niche User: Its a great neighborhood, quiet and safe. Great for raising a family and close to doctor's offices and hospitals. Real estate is expensive, definitely a place own a home rather than rent. Current Resident: Clarence Center is a small suburban town a few miles outside of the city of Buffalo. Clarence Center has a lot to offer, everything is close together. The library, bike path, elementary school, post office, candy shack, and multiple restaurants are all 5 minutes within each other . Current Resident: East Aurora is a very safe and family friendly town. Home to Fisher Price, The Roycroft Campus, and hometown of President Miller Fillmore. There are three great parks throughout the town for hiking, playing, and dog walking. Family-owned restaurants with mom-and-pop shops all along Main Street. Everything is within walking distance of each other, with centerpieces like Vidler's five and dime store, and a town movie theater. Current Resident: Kenmore is a very small suburb outside of Buffalo, New York. It is a very safe and friendly community. It is home to many locally-owned shops, but also national chains. It has many local community events throughout the year, including the Kenmore Days festival which includes amusement rides, food, games, and fireworks during the summer, Santa in the Village which includes visits with Santa and his elves and food at the village square, and outdoor concerts in late August. Despite its small size, there is always something going on in Kenmore! Kenmore is also home to many parks, local pools, and both public and private elementary and high schools that are in good standing. For the little kids, there are numerous daycare sites, as well.... Current Resident: Best place to live! Top notch schools, not far from many great restaurants, stores and medical facilities! Homes are in a country-like setting and aren’t on top of each other which still gives you your privacy, yet not totally alienated. Very friendly neighbors, great place to ride your bike or walk your dog. (Dog-friendly neighborhood!) Police and fire station are just a few minutes away also. Former Resident: I loved living in Elma. Elma itself doesn't have a lot of anything. A handful of OK pizza places. A couple of good or better restaurants. No major grocery store, but you were always 5-10 minutes to Lancaster, East Aurora, Orchard Park, Cheektowaga, West Seneca. And you were probably within 20 minutes to Buffalo via the 400. For being sub-rural, you were close to everything. The town gov't used to control overdevelopment, but by the time I left (early 2019), they caved to developer pressure, started allowing duplexes, apartments, and those horrible flag lots. Schools - inefficient. No reason to maintain 3 elementary buildings each having high cost administration. Every year raised taxes. Elma is lower than most Erie County, but relatively. $3300/yr for $150K house. I pay $1800/yr. here for $300K house w/ higher rated schools. Current Resident: Quiet, clean little city with a lot of parks, things to do, and easy access to a large network of well-maintained bike paths that connect Niagara Falls through Buffalo. Very safe place to live and raise a family. Taxes are lower than most other cities in Niagara County and the services are superb. For the most part, people in the neighborhood have respect for their homes and their community, and it shows. There are also plenty of unique business to explore, scattered throughout the city. Current Resident: I moved to Sloan, Buffalo in September of 2021 and since then there have been no problems. When I first moved to Buffalo I initially thought that I would hate it because it was such a drastic change compared to New York City. It was too quiet and there were no people on the roads. However, when i looked at it from a different perspective, i had friends who lived right next to me, i felt so much safer compared to the streets that i used to live on, and the environment seems no much cleaner and healthier. Being able to take a walk at night without having to worry as much as I did in NYC. Current Resident: I live in Niagara there is 2 years. Niagara was industrial city till years 40. Them all factories closed in the 50. Population was 160000. today is just 45 000. Is not best in crime. But I consider the crime depend where you go in the city. Some areas are not good. You must to know it. But real dangerous crime not. Some people will ask you for money in the main st. Most people crazy but good people. The population and city hall are very sweet, flexible and happy. Here you feel like a country side people. In this moment the west side near the river will change a lot. New York State give 50 million to take out the highway between niagara state park and whirlpool park. Current Resident: Absolutely beautiful suburbs. There are so many things to do for people of all ages. 10-20 min away from both the city of Buffalo and the gorgeous countryside! Tonawanda features quaint, medium sized homes and backyards. Pets and pools are allowed. Also, everything extremely important is within walking/biking distance! The town is around 5-10 minutes away from the University of Buffalo and features easy access.
