Current Resident: Ardmore has been a wonderful place to be raised. There is so much to do in and around Ardmore. The neighborhoods are quiet, which is quite nice. The neighbors and friends you meet while living in Ardmore are the best! It is super close to Suburban Square, a shopping center filled with a diverse range of stores. Additionally, it's only a 25-minute drive from Philly, which makes it extremely easy when you need to take a trip into Philly. Current Resident: The best community for walkability, outstanding schools, culture, cute downtown, proximity to large center city, safety, community amenities, local history, Publix transportation and neighborliness. And for all that, it is relatively affordable. I can get to New York in less than 2 hours, DC in less than 3 hours and downtown Philly in less than 20 minutes by public transportation I walk to from my home or anywhere in Narberth.4th of July fireworks, Halloween parade and other Americana events. Current Resident: My wife and I have lived in Conshy for almost 4 years now! We absolutely love living here. Conshy has a bustling city feel with a outdoorsy suburban vibe. You get the best of both world while paying low taxes and having a top tier school district. The resturant scene and small town feel was another reason why we gravitated towards the area!There are endless restuarants to choose from and there are new "ghost kitchens" poping up all over. Most if not all of the resurants and stores are pet friendly which is a plus. The accessibiliy to the local trails and parks is another selling point for the area. I enjoy riding my bike along the scenic schuylkill river trail to Valley Forge Park (10 miles up and 10 miles back). Lastly, I am excited for the redevelopment of the waterfront and the new train station. Mixing the historic buildings with the new will definetely reshape city scape of Conshy. Current Resident: Jenkintown is a wonderful community to grow up in! Pros: - fun traditions/events like the pumpkin drop, the arts festival - well established and cute downtown area - shorter train ride to center city than many inner-city neighborhoods like Mt Airy and Chestnut Hill (from our station it takes 20-35 minutes depending on where you're going) - economically diverse - lots of different housing options costing anywhere from $90,000 all the way to maybe $800,000. We have apartments, rowhomes, twins, and singles of all sizes. Cons: - Jenkintown isn't especially diverse racially. However, I've seen it get more and more diverse in the years I've been here.... Current Resident: Plymouth Meeting is a small town. For me, it's close to a lot of stores and the highways and turnpike is very close. I would like to raise a family in this community, however, the market to purchase a home in this area is very high. Hopefully with the years to come the market will become more affordable for minorities. Also, the apartment developments are raising the price of living but not upgrading. So, it seems that we as renters are paying for the area rather than our actual home. Hopefully this improves over the next few years, other than these few issues it is a great community and has a lot of opportunity for children to participate in extracurricular activities and grow.... Current Resident: Living in Blue Bell is very nice! It's quiet, peaceful and there are amazing places for entertainment near by. Blue Bell's community is very polite as well, I think it's a good place to be if you'd like to have peace and quiet. The only draw back I can think of is that there getting to a shopping center is tricky without a car. There is also a great amount of construction that goes on, it can get in the way of driving. Current Resident: Wyndmoor is great! I have only one thing I wish we had as a community and that would be sidewalks- for a more walkable neighborhood. Walking builds community and gets people out. It's still a very old town and not all pockets of out area have sidewalk, and I would love to see that change. Current Resident: I love North Wales! There's restaurants and stores everywhere, neighborhoods are kept clean and close together. There's always new flowers being planted and they listen to community advice. My grandfather suggested the neighborhood brick entrance sign looked a little dirty and falling apart. A month later it was restored, repainted and they installed all new gold lettering, so I'd say, very on top of things! I'm not much of a party girl so I can't say much on nightlife. One of the best public school systems in the state adequately prepares students for college and the professional world. The neighborhood is very safe which usually results in cops terrorizing kids. Current Resident: The public schools here are very good. They provide students with numerous different areas to grow, and are highly ranked among the state with their test scores. The neighborhood is very safe, and there are many convenience stores around as well as traditional fast food options and healthy alternatives for an easy dinner. I have personally visited multiple retirement centers in this area during my time at the public schools and they have a very lovely interior and the staff are always friendly. The community works to bring each other up, a little over a year ago a tornado came through (a surprise to us all) and took with it some houses and the high school. A movement known as "UD strong" (Upper Dublin is the district's name) is the name of the community uniting and helping each other through this hard time. Current Resident: I have lived here my entire life, and not once felt unsafe or uncomfortable in this town. Everyone seems very easy-going and are just great people that I am glad to know. Niche User: The atmosphere and aura of this neighborhood is outstanding. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming even before we moved in! It is mainly families in this neighborhood but the kids are never too noisy. If I could do the process over again, I would still want my parents to chose this neighborhood to live in. Although we moved in when i was 10, this home means more to me than the one we were in before. After living in a small townhouse, it is so refreshing being in this neighborhood.
