It is also at the base of some mountains, so there is plenty of hiking and biking trails and other outdoor activities. There are several elementary schools in Centerville, and 1 Jr. High School; however, the closest high school is Viewmont High School which is on the boarder of Centerville and Bountiful. There are also plenty of beautiful parks with basketball, tennis, and racquetball courts. There are plenty of fun activities to do in the summer and in the winter. While the city consists of tight knit groups, it's still very welcoming to newcomers and visitors. The education centers are top of the line, the people are friendly, and it's close enough to other cities and towns to accommodate amenities that a more rural community might lack, but isn't overcrowded like a city. The only thing that could really improve is the amount of recreational activities that are provided. Current Resident: Stansbury Park is a nice, small town, although it is growing. There are many amazing things about living here. There is little to no traffic! The only time you see traffic is during rush hour, but that is minimal compared to other cities. The community is amazing. Everyone is considerate and friendly, and there is a strong sense of unity and connection. The mountains are nearby, creating amazing views and hiking/camping/biking opportunities. There is the Stansbury Lake, which is a summer favorite. Of course, there are some cons of Stansbury. There aren't a ton of job options (though it is not that bad of a commute to Salt Lake, where there are an abundance of jobs). There are biting gnats that are a real nuisance in the spring! And sometimes it feels like there is not much to do, unless you want to drive into Salt Lake. But the pros far out way the cons. When my husband and I moved to this area we anticipated only living here for about one year, however, we fell in love with the neighborhood, the scenery, and the convenience of its central location. So, three years later and we are still here! We live right in the middle of our work and school. My husband has a 15 min drive south to get to work, while I have a 15 min North to get to school. Current Resident: I have lived here my entire life and have loved every minute of it! It's not total city which is nice so there is some breathing room with horse pastures and room for farms. It has nice local businesses and is very beautiful with the view of the Rocky Mountains right in our backyard! There are lots of opportunities to go outside and hike around on multiple trails including Ben Lomond Peak, a personal favorite of mine. There are many parks that are all great to take kids to and to just have fun! There is Weber state right next door to us and so that provides a close college. Overall Pleasant view is a great place to live! I feel safe here and it's not like downtown Ogden. It's close to Willard and Brigham city so the feel is almost like those. There are lots of family-friendly activities both from the local school's programs, and with the city too. Within the city itself there are many highly ranked elementary schools, and the local Junior and High Schools are only 10-15 minutes away. Current Resident: My husband and I moved to the area 6 years ago in our late 20's and have loved it. Most of our neighbors are friendly, a good mix of young and older folks but we notice our older neighbors are more approachable. We were surprised to learn that about half of our neighbors we know are LDS, but have never felt bothered with the LDS culture. The access to the mountains is amazing and the best in the valley and maybe even the country. Plenty of hiking and skiing within minutes but we do plan accordingly because of increased traffic in the canyons at certain times (weekends & powder days). There's also a nice variety of local and chain restaurants but we wish for more walkability to a centralized area with local spots. CH is a typical suburb, but we come from Midwest suburbs and it far beats that because of outdoor access.
