Current Resident: I moved into the Golden Hills/South Park area of downtown San Diego in August of 2016. From day one I have felt safe walking the sidewalks to and from the local markets, the post office and restaurants all the while admiring the old, eclectic homes with wrap around porches. It is a quite convenient place to live, with access to the 5 and 94 within a 2 minute drive from my apartment and bike lanes for local errands. Golden Hills has a dog park and is flush with dog-friendly vendors who don't mind if your pet joins you as you patronize the various storefronts. There are even 3 gyms within less than a mile! This place is a diamond in the rough and my only complaint would be the amount of potholes near the entrances to the freeway ramps. Other than that, Golden Hills is a hidden gem!... Read 23 reviews

Current Resident: Folsom is a pretty suburban place. However, these last 5 years there have been a lot of construction for new houses and schools along the highway so the place is becoming busier. This place is pretty sheltered as well from the outside world. There is a balanced demographic of people as well and everyone generally can feel welcome! There are many lovely restaurants filled with different cuisines! My personal favorite is the boba shops and Thai/Indian restaurants! Once a couple days, I enjoy walking at the local malls (we have 2!) with friends and going out to eat as well! There are many lovely parks and trails as well! Over quarantine, I enjoyed biking along Johnny Cash Trail all the way up to Folsom Dam! I also enjoyed having small picnics with friends at Folsom Lake!
