Current Resident: I moved to NWA in 2019 rented in Bentonville for a year while figuring out where I wanted to live. Bought a place in Bella Vista near Lake Avalon. I love it. Beautiful place, love the outdoors! BV has lots of trails for hiking or biking, lakes fishing, boating, kayaking, fresh air, activity centers for homeowners with exercise classes, gym etc... You get this all for a nominal monthly poa fee. People complain and I laugh. You can't get it this cheap anywhere else! The area is growing and becoming more diverse everyday. The wildlife is abundant especially in spring. You'll see deer, opossum, armadillos, fox, bald eagles, lots of cardinals, titmouse, blue birds, wrens and sparrows... every kind of woodpecker there is. Current Resident: We moved here in December of 2020 and I love it here for the most part. It is much more quiet and the city has different entertainment choices, places to eat etc to where you don’t feel the need to drive to the next city. I do however hate the traffic, it is horrible. And I wish there were more speed bumps, we have none in my neighborhood and my kid has been ran off the road on his bike, almost hit just walking on the side of the road because we have no sidewalks by drivers who refuse to drive 25mph instead they are usually going about 30-35 mph, sometimes faster.... Current Resident: I prefer going to Bryant, a nearby town, for most of my shopping (i.e. groceries, clothes, take-out, etc.). Particularly, the Benton Walmart is underwhelming; they're constantly out of products and poorly organized. Furthermore, Benton feels older, less hip, and the people are less educated or well-presented. Benton has a lot of stuff, though. I like the movie theater, the mini-golf course, some of the restaurants. They are currently doing significant construction in the are, which is frustrating. I understand it will make things better in the long run, but right now it is making for confusing traffic patterns and longer commute times. Also, I have no idea about any possible activities the town might have. Benton either has no community activities or just poorly advertises them, causing me to feel disconencted from my community.... Current Resident: I've lived in Farmington for over 13 years. The town was still growing when I first started going to school here. I remember going to elementary school and recognizing every single person in every single grade. Now that I'm a senior, I still recognize every single person, but it's not because it's a small town. I recognize everyone because of how much my peers love to socialize. I hardly notice any forms of harassment, if any. The school has a growing arts program and just built a brand new stadium a little over a year ago. When you watch a game on Friday nights, the only thing people seem to notice is how gorgeous the view is. Imagine an orange sun, peeking over the mountains and bringing out all of the trees on those mountains. That's what we experience every Friday night. Along with the beautiful stadium, the school built an auditorium and basketball court in 2016. It's shocking to see how much Farmington has grown. Current Resident: My husband and I moved to Mayflower in 2021, I didn't know anyone so I was a little apprehensive, to say the least. Mayflower people are the type to mind their own business, so you have to put in the effort to get to know the community. I keep to myself so this was a challenge for me. All of a sudden I became a legal guardian of a couple of kiddos, I then noticed the community kick into high gear. They jumped in to provide Christmas, clothing, furniture, etc. I met a lot of the community that day and for weeks to come. Some faded back to where they came from and others became good aquaintances. Mayflower will always kick in to help anyone in need, you just have to remember that you either grew up here, or didn't. I still feel like an outsider after all this time, so I would have given it 5 stars if not for that. The school and teachers can't be beat. 6 eating places, O'Reilly's, Lumber yard, Harps grocery, Dollar general, Family dollar, Donut shop, 2 gas stations, auto repair shop...... Read 7 reviews
