    Featured Review: Former Resident says University City is my favorite place I have ever lived!Pros:• Feels like a small town in some ways but all of the amenities of a big city• Beautiful tree lined streets • So many local businesses to support• Lots of cute, local parks • Very close to Forest Park, The Loop, downtown Clayton, Brentwood, etc.• Still very cheap for being in an urban center• Fall and spring are wonderful• Close to rural towns and a lot of hiking trails• Sense of community and the community is very diverse• Not a lot of traffic and street parking is easy to find• Homes are so charming and each has a different style• Food is amazing and many different types of cuisines• U City has its own distinct vibe from the rest of STL• Residents are liberalCons:• MO is a conservative state and so statewide if you are a minority, you are not protected very much • Winters in MO can be brutal• There is quite a bit of crime that happens in the surrounding areas• Could see it becoming unaffordable soon.

    Featured Review: Former Resident says Pros:• Downtown St. Charles is incredibly charming & picturesque• Access to nature is plenty with hiking trails running the river as well / beautiful forests • There is always something going on for a city this small!• Main Street is so beautiful & safe to walk day or night• The Missouri River!• Has a very small town feel but amenities of a city • Still cheap for the most part• Glorious autumns & springs• Great parks nearby• Close enough to the city where driving to St. Louis daily is an option • People here are very friendly & there is a strong sense of community• Great colleges (In St. Charles and STL metro)• So many small businesses!Cons:• A little too conservative for my liking• Crime is a little high but much lower than most places in the metro area• Compared to rest of STL, food is not very good• Winters are… Rough (but beautiful sometimes)• Like all of STL, there is racial tension • Starting to get more expensive but much cheaper than most of the country.
