Current Resident: Small town vibes in the big city! Has everything you could want, within a couple miles. New access to public transport makes it easy to get into Boston, and most of the area is very walkable. Diverse, community oriented, and beautiful! Current Resident: I have been living in Watertown, Massachusetts for about 20 years, and I am still very happy with my decision to move here! The school system is great! I raised both my sons here, and there are many nice parks to frequent. They play sports, and my youngest plays basketball and soccer at Vicory Field a lot, which was totally redone a few years ago. I also work in Watertown too, so the commute is pretty great. I'm happy to say my husband and I just bought our first home here last year! It's nearby to everything honestly. Walking our dogs around our neighborhood or taking them to the friendly doggie park nearby is our favorite thing to do!! Greats spots to eat as well, with lots of diverse selections. Current Resident: It's a town with city feel. East Arlington/Arlington center/Arlington heights all have very convenient locations. Connecting to Route 2, MassAve, and close to I 93. The town is mix of urban and suburban feel. People here are friendly. Sports are seen everywhere with great facilities. A lot of park resources. Spy pond is awesome for kayaking or boating. Current Resident: Malden is a unique and quiet town, at least from the part where I live. It has very nice pizza shops and boba places to come eat and drink with friends, the community in Malden is very caring as they advocate for donations to the poor and strive for the upmost happiness as well. I enjoy coming outside and walking through the park every once and a while and playing sports with friends and family. And the diversity here is wonderful as well, there are many people with different kinds of backgrounds and some with similar backgrounds too. They also have a nearby mosque where I can gather and pray with many Muslim people and unite with a peaceful Muslim community. Current Resident: Since moving to Massachusetts, Marlborough has provided a welcoming atmosphere to live. There are plenty of places to shop and commuting to neighboring towns is within reasonable distance and time. Police presence is prominent which is reassuring, reinforces a sense of safety while out and about and they are professionals. Current Resident: I have lived in Woburn for 4 years and I liked the city from the very start. The community is hospitable and welcoming to immigrants like myslef. There are also many jobs readily available like working in stores, restaurants, coffee shops, factories and offices. Woburn also has ammenities like healt care institutions, shopping centres and social facilities and schools with a relatively good school district that make life easy within the city. It is also worth noting that the rent costs in Woburn are relatively low compared to other surbubs like Somerville, Malden, Medford & Stoneham. Current Resident: I appreciate the diversity of Lowell. I have come across multiple different backgrounds and have come to see that there are communities within the community! There is a large Cambodian Community that support each other with resources, markets, and networking. Though the commute can be more difficult, Lowell does still have commuting times on 495. If you happen to be a commuting taking public transportation; just a heads up, get to know the LRTA bus the routes and how Lowell's system works because it is not the same as the MBTA. It also runs at specific times so understand when you would need to leave home in order to catch the bus. This could quite possibly the most annoying thing about living in Lowell when you grew up in Boston. Lowell looks to improve their school system and has taken steps to better their hiring practices. Current Resident: I believe the school system is great! I have had very few teachers I did not like which is amazing for a public school. Although, the ratings have gone down and Wayland Public Schools is now not ranked top 10 in the state, when it was previously top 5 I believe. It is a predominantly white town although there is around 30% asians and 5% black students in my high school. Very easy access to 95 and 90 which makes the commute to activities easy. Current Resident: For those who bashed the city the Mayor, you are entitled to your opinion. However, I believe the city has transformed a lot in positive ways because of the Mayor’s ability to lead. I’ve lived in the city for almost 10 years and I can tell you that real estate tax and water bills are one of the lowest around Boston. Schools are OK, but parks and playgrounds are beautiful and plenty. I believe it’s getting better every day and like me, you will not regret a bit once you move here. Current Resident: The town is clean and most of the people are friendly. You can find a shopping center with almost everything you could need. At the edge of town lies the Stone Zoo. What a wonderful experience, this zoo has come a long way. They have tons of new animal exhibits, a petting zoo, child play area and much much more! There's a great view of Spot Pond from the zoo and an area where you can rent a kayak and take a trip around the pond. Hot day, and want to cool off?
