Current Resident: I love it here! Cambridge, MA is the Mecca of Biotechnology, which is what I want to continue in my Professional Career, but also in Graduate School. It is very safe, diverse, The Top Two Universities in the World are here, the salary is high, specially for those who work in Tech and Biotech meaning that you can easily have a great quality of life. Current Resident: Better than living in Boston, everything you need is within reach , car not essential. Far safer than some parts of Boston. People from all over the world live here, highly progressive, and well educated and not necessarily in the formal sense. Thankfully, your typically rude and abrasive Bostonians are long gone from this area, unless you go to the post office, or elsewhere where civil servants with pensions are still present. Home prices are outrageously and undeservingly high. Being a very old city many buildings and housings have major issues, even if they claim are "renovated or remodeled" so be careful as greedy and unscrupulous developers have descended into this area with virtually very little oversight and there are numerous incidents of major construction/redevelopment issues.... Current Resident: Ferndale has so much character. People here do fun, unique things with their yards and businesses. Restaurants are great, parks are plentiful, and if you’re an art lover, you will go broke attending summer festivals. I love the diversity and how welcoming the neighborhoods are. Former Resident: WeHo was one of the best places that I've ever lived. You get the amenities of living in the heart of LA (a diversity of foods and people, nightlife, entertainment, etc.) while also retaining quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods (unless you live on Santa Monica Blvd) and nearby hiking trails. If you are LGBTQ+, then WeHo is one of the few cities in the United States where you'd comprise a majority of the population. Another positive: if you don't like to drive, you can live a more urban lifestyle in this part of LA. I rarely drove for daily trips, as I could walk to several grocery stores, restaurants, bars, and my gym. Current Resident: Brookline's public transportation is excellent, and restaurants and businesses are everywhere in the historic districts, making shopping and dining an overall experience. LIVING in Brookline is a little bit more difficult though, as all parking is reserved for shoppers and visitors, so if you plan on being a resident here, plan on renting a separate home for your vehicle (Craigslist). You're a stones-throw from most activities though, and it may be more advantageous for those who can to avoid having a car all together. The only other downside to living in Brookline is the cost of rent. A one bedroom apartment can cost anywhere from $1,800 to $3,000 on the high end, so be prepared! Current Resident: My wife and I have lived in Conshy for almost 4 years now! We absolutely love living here. Conshy has a bustling city feel with a outdoorsy suburban vibe. You get the best of both world while paying low taxes and having a top tier school district. The resturant scene and small town feel was another reason why we gravitated towards the area!There are endless restuarants to choose from and there are new "ghost kitchens" poping up all over. Most if not all of the resurants and stores are pet friendly which is a plus. The accessibiliy to the local trails and parks is another selling point for the area. I enjoy riding my bike along the scenic schuylkill river trail to Valley Forge Park (10 miles up and 10 miles back). Lastly, I am excited for the redevelopment of the waterfront and the new train station. Mixing the historic buildings with the new will definetely reshape city scape of Conshy. Current Resident: I've lived in Arlington all my life, I went to elementary, middle, and high school here. I love that Arlington is a very safe neighborhood statewide. I've traveled to many other counties and cities in the US, nothing beats it. I'd most likely raise my children in Arlington, VA. Being 15 minutes from the nation's capital and 20 minutes from Maryland is a flex lol! Current Resident: I absolutely love the location! Everything is nearby as well. If I can't walk to it the drive isn't more than 15 minutes. There's plenty places to visit and things to do, no matter what time of day. Always clean and the people are not only friendly and helpful, but abundantly diverse. I've met so many new friends and haven't had an issue with anyone or anything. The price of living in such a nice area is reasonable. Current Resident: I have been living in Bellevue, KY for several years now and the city has gotten more developed with many new faces. Rather you want to take a stroll to look at houses full of character, grab a drink at one of the many new bars or go shopping, there are many things to do while living and visiting Bellevue! The city is centrally-located, only about a 10 minute ride to downtown Cincinnati or Covington. A mile-long walk will lead you to the Purple People Bridge and all of what Newport has to offer. Bellevue being a river town has a beach park right by the river where you can enjoy a walk along the path, take a break on a bench or have a picnic in the gazebo. Current Resident: Growing up in Highland Park, I have always felt a strong sense of support within my community, which has allowed me to push myself to accomplish goals that I would have never dreamed of before. I appreciate how my town continuously finds ways to appeal to everyone's needs and encourages our voices to be heard. Not only do the local businesses and schools go out of their way to make people feel safe, but our teen center also provides us with their guidance when it comes to personal issues and questions. My town is a place where I know I feel safe and accepted. Though this may be the case for me, I personally know others who have dealt with serious bullying in my community. I would like to see my town change for the better and address bullying properly. They have held pep rallies in schools to address this issue but I believe much more needs to be done.
