Current Resident: Surf City is a good place to live in NJ. All locations in the town are close to the beach and ocean and the bay. It has an excellent library and good eateries and stores. It's a small town which is nice. Real estate taxes are reasonable. It has a good police department and beach patrol. Housing is a bit expensive because it's located on Long Beach Island which is a highly desired community. It is a very family friendly community. Transportation is convenient, with major highways close by. Very good environment for raising children.... Read 2 reviews

Senior: As a student who has attended the Wilberforce school from 8-12th grade with siblings currently in the lower and middle school, I have experienced much of the school in its entirety. I transferred from a local public school and a couple things I would highlight: 1. The Wilberforce school functions on a classical curriculum. Therefore, everyone takes mostly all the same classes. Personally, I love the small classes and intimate learning environment that Wilberforce fosters. Whereas I experienced a lot of Chromebook work in public school, there is a focus on discussion and paper and pen work at Wilberforce which made it easier for me to learn. 2. The teachers are AMAZING. They have not only helped me to grow in areas I previously had low confidence in (ie math, public speaking), but also have grown me as a whole person. Humane letters class is an unparalleled experience. 3. I have been heavily involved in the musical and it has been one of the highlights of my time here!... Read 102 reviews

Current Resident: Lived a year so far and love this town. Residents joke that it’s Pleasantville or Mayberry North. Tons of young families. Very good for the 30s/40s with young kids. Very friendly neighbors. You feel like you can leave your doors unlocked. Current Resident: I am a Black person living in Pennington for a little over one year. I did not expect it to be as welcoming as it has been. Upon arrival to this little town, I expected tons of stares, uncomfortable feelings, and worry for my children. To my surprise, though I do occasionally get stared at, it was exactly the opposite. People frequently say speak and say hello. I feel welcome and I'm no longer overly concerned about the safety and welfare of my children. I do wish Main Street was a little bit more built up with businesses but that speaks to today's economic climate while emerging from the pandemic.... Read 22 reviews

Current Resident: Truly the only detriment to the town is the noise from Route 35, which runs right through the center. Bay Head is absolutely lovely, very green - most of the town has some tree cover and the streets are lined with trees and flowerpots. There are loads of cute little shops you can go into if you are a tourist or if you are exploring the town. There are four churches: one Methodist, one Episcopalian, one Catholic, and one non-denominational Christian. The Methodist church has the most beautiful bells that it plays all the time. The beach is small but nice. The community is pretty close-knit.... Read 3 reviews

Works Here: Bullis is amazing! I am so impressed with the curriculum. Teachers challenge students academically, yet they incorporate a joyful hands-on learning experience. The enriching opportunities are endless in academics, arts, athletics, and service, which provides a well-rounded education and cultivates respect for others, confidence, and the joy of discovery. Faculty, students, and parents are incredibly welcoming and friendly. I grew up in the DC area and assumed a different experience. However, the modern-day folklore that lingers — nothing could be further from the truth! Everyone I've met is genuinely kind, caring, and helpful. Parent: The academics at Gill are rigorous. Expectations are high and the level of work produced is exceptional. The students are open minded, intellectually curious, happy and extremely bright. This school has risen to the very top of NewJersey’s finest institutions.
