- Town in Wisconsin
- Rating 4 out of 5 4 reviews
Current Resident: I've lived in Spring Green for 15 years, and I think it's a nice place. The countryside is beautiful out here in the Driftless area of Wisconsin, and the people are usually friendly. There are a lot of small events that happen in town throughout the year, and a couple of big ones: the Art Fair and the Car Show being the bigger events. The economy is limited but things are moving well and there is a decent amount of money in the village and the area. I and a lot of others do the 35- to 45-minute commute to work in Middleton or Madison, depending of course on the location of the workplace. The closest cheap grocery shopping is at the Super Walmart in Dodgeville, about a 20-minute drive away (17 miles).
It can get pretty quiet with not much going on, especially in winter, so I wouldn't recommend living here for people who are looking for a faster paced or more stimulating kind of lifestyle. You need to have your own things going that interest you in your life, and then you'll be fine.
