#105 Best Places to Live in Sacramento Area
- Suburb of Sacramento, CA
- Rating 4.06 out of 5 17 reviews
Current Resident: Shingle Springs is a small, mostly rural community that's everything the California stereotype isn't: it's mostly white, heavily conservative leaning, and has a small commuter town feel. Most folks commute to Folsom/Sacramento for work and entertainment. The most interesting things about Shingle Springs are the extensive dog rescue and the railroad history of the town, including the El Dorado Trail. Shingle Springs itself is not a particularly exciting place to live but the surrounding areas offer plenty of entertainment, outdoor activities, and community; the town is a matter of a short drive from excellent hiking, incredible vistas, and historical sites.
