#45 Best Places to Live in Chicago Area
- Town in Illinois
- Rating 4.1 out of 5 209 reviews
Current Resident: Schaumburg is a nice family-friendly suburb of Chicago with two great school districts, district 211 and district 54. The drive is about 45 minutes to an hour away to the city (during good traffic conditions) and there is a train station as well. The nightlife is not amazing here, but since it is so close to the city, there are plenty of other places to explore downtown. Schaumburg is not the most affordable suburb in the Chicago area, but because of Woodfield Mall, the taxes aren't as high as some of the neighboring towns. There are plenty of places to get food, coffee, and do some shopping. The town also holds Septemberfest every year, a three day festival with a craft fair, local restaurant tent, a carnival, concerts, and fireworks. Overall, Schaumburg is a nice sized suburb that has much to offer for its residents.
