Neighborhood in Bellevue, WA
Current Resident: Wilburton is the sweet spot in Bellevue, especially for families. Close-in to downtown and easy to get to the 405, 90, and 520 - and to light rail, from 2023. Excellent elementary school feeding into Chinook and Bellevue High. Hundreds of acres of parks, including the Botanical Gardens, Wilburton Hill, and Kelsey Creek Park. Yet still easier to buy or rent than neighborhoods west of the 405, which are fairly similar in character but much much more expensive.... Read 5 reviews

Town in Washington
Current Resident: I grew up in Redmond and it’s a great place to live if you can afford it (it’s not uncommon to be surrounded by Teslas on the roads). It’s growing up more now with new apartment buildings going in, but there’s still not much to do in the city itself. That’s okay though, it’s surrounded by nature, other great cities like Kirkland, Woodinville, and Bellevue, and is only 20 mins from Seattle. It’s also super diverse, over 60% of students in the school district are non-white. There are tons of Indian and Asian people who work at Microsoft and Amazon, I sometimes feel like a minority as a white person, but I love all the different cultures. My only qualm is how liberal it is, I’m conservative and definitely don’t feel safe expressing my views because people can be pretty hateful. Also, the Seattle freeze is real and it’s really hard for newcomers to make friends. But overall, it’s a really lovely place to live!... Read 111 reviews

Current Resident: The best part of Seattle if you are looking for a "sterile" place to live. Many of the buildings here are new and the ground is flat. Mostly tech offices and biotech labs with retail spaces and apartments for those workers. Current Resident: Overall Lower Queen Anne is great for access and beautiful views of the Puget Sound and Islands, but is a bit loud and in close proximity to crime. There are many amazing sights including the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and on the rare clear day even the Olympic Mountains on the Peninsula. Even at night the view is perfect, looking over the downtown Seattle skyline and freight boats in the harbor. However, the streets can be quite noisy at all times of day, and most residential buildings in the area were constructed for the Seattle World's Fair in the 60s, meaning thin walls and lots of noise pollution. Crime can also be a deterrent to prospective residents, with its proximity to downtown Seattle and the unfortunate many people suffering from being unhoused. The transit system nearby is excellent, ensuring you do not have to make the hike up the steepest hill in Seattle to get to Upper Queen Anne and beyond, but many side roads also include stairs and railings.... City in Washington
Current Resident: Bellevue is a wonderfully safe city with well funded private schools that offer academic rigor. It is a very racially diverse city and is home to major companies such as Microsoft which offer many job opportunities. It has a very active city life during the day and has many restaurants with diverse menus, as well as large shopping malls. The city offers Metro transportation buses that are completely electric fueled, however buses are very often subject to late arrivals. Despite its good qualities, Bellevue is a very expensive city to live in with the average house costing 1.5 million. Goods and services are also very overpriced, and have risen sharply due to inflation.... Read 181 reviews

Freshman: 2021-2022 was my first year as a high schooler and I would say Elizabeth Seton High school made the transition better than I expected! I first learned about the school through a friend's older sibling. I toured the school for the first time. My first impression of the school was great and very welcoming! A few of the then seniors talked to me about the school itself and I almost instantly loved the woman-empowered environment around the school. The idea of an all-girl school at first did not thrill me but now I can definitely say it was a great decision! The school offers many inclusive clubs and sports. I joined the soccer team before the school year began and met amazing people. Even if soccer isn't your thing, they also offer basketball, swimming, and many other sports. It's not all sports based though! There is also a robotics club, book club, equestrian club, BSU, theater and so much more. Seton does a great job of being inclusive and the diversity in the school is amazing!... Read 319 reviews

Senior: Going to the Academy of the Holy Cross, I’ve discovered who I am. I loved growing and learning with other young women and sharing different life/culture/ religious experiences with one another. One great memory that I have from Holy Cross is our Holy Cross days! Huge competition between all the grades from 9-12. At the end of the day we all come together as a community and close with a prayer. Even though traditions at Holy Cross do change I hope that everyone’s energy is in the same place! That is something I hope would never change. One thing I would like to see more from Holy Cross are more presentations and celebrations about people cultures. The Academy of the Holy Cross does a good job with celebrating but I hope that there is a little more effort. I love being apart of the celebration and talking about my heritage.... Read 190 reviews
