Current Resident: As for someone who has lived their entire life in Yuma (17 years), I would say that the overall community in Yuma has been great to me. Yuma is a smaller town in Arizona, making it easier to get to know, find places to eat, and etc. As a high school student, I would say that the community that revolves around the schools here has been great, the schools in Yuma really do care about the children's education and go above and beyond to make sure that students feel safe when learning. Since it is a smaller town, it is easy to find things to do around the area, although, it can be very limited. This smaller town makes life much more affordable than many other states and cities! I have never felt unsafe while living here, and do recommend Yuma to those who are just wanting to expand their family while keeping it affordable. Current Resident: Retirement area similar to Palm Springs but at a fraction of the cost, although a few single people and families do reside here. Wonderful place to live, laid back. Excellent grocery shopping (Fry’s, $1 Tree, 99 cents only store, etc) The Foothills community is basically devoid of crime, I don’t even lock my doors most nights. Yuma County Sheriff is at your door in 5 minutes if you call them. Only 15 min drive west to Yuma via I-8 freeway. 2-2.5 hours to either Phoenix or San Diego. Only downside is the 100+ searing heat in the summer, but after all, we ARE in the desert :)... Read 22 reviews

Current Resident: As a parent you must love this town! It is small yet it has the essentials for a family. Relatively low crime, schools, stores, parks and awesome weather. One downside is... not too much entertainment such as concerts and sports stadiums. But that is the trade off for peace.... Read 13 reviews

Current Resident: San Luis Az is pretty safe and peaceful, however over the years the growing population has outgrown this little town. Each year you see more people, more cars and of course, traffic...we have ONE pretty small border, so that contributes to the traffic. San luis has so much potential to be something like Calexico with shopping malls and various stores, hotels, theaters, not just a single walmart. I hope investors can see this in the future. But I also believe we are going in the right direction with new houses being built everyday, a medical mall, two brand new gyms, and there are plans for new parks. There is hope! We just have to wait. Overall, I enjoy my life here, boring at times and the weather does not help, but i would never change it for anything else, the peacefulness of this town is remarkable!... Current Resident: Small town community everyone knows everyone. There is not much besides a swimming pool, public park, and a library for the kids. Its a great community you can walk the streets without feeling unsafe. The town also has lots of events for the community to attend to, also summer programs to keep the children busy, for example summer ball and kids club all run by volunteered community members or high school students...
