Current Resident: Over the last 10 years I have lived in Jenks, I have seen phenomenal changes made to the city and the people. Jenks is not only improving economically, but diversely as well. When I had graduated in 2020, more than half of our class were students who just migrated to the United States or were apart of foreign exchange programs. Throughout most of my high school and college experiences, you would always find ways to learn and understand different cultures. Throughout the neighborhoods in Jenks, you can find more diversity than years prior. I think this is one of the best part about Jenks due to the economy trying to provide and accommodating other cultures experiences. Nearby Resident: Wonderful city with tons of new development. Yes the poor rating is due to the housing being very expensive in Bixby. You are looking at half a million for a decent home in Bixby which is higher than the national average given we are talking about Oklahoma. The city itself is extremely clean and most amenities are very close. Tons of coffee shops, costco, eateries, boutiques and big box stores. Extremely friendly neighbors and the proximity to south Tulsa is a huge plus. A big sense of community and highly educated residents. Lots of entrepreneurs and folks in medicine/law. Family friendly town that welcomes folks from ALL religions. Several schools also outrank Jenks. Overall a nice well established city with an affluent population. Good foundation to retire, raise a family or work. Only downside is the highway to downtown is not very close unless you take the turnpike.... Read 95 reviews

Works Here: Nice sized city with plenty of amenities. I moved from NYC and also lived in San Jose for a few years. Tulsa by far has to be the most friendliest city I’ve visited. There are several upscale areas for working professionals and the community is very strong. Neighbors will look out for each other and are very respectful. There are a few private schools and really nice suburbs like Bixby and Jenks close by if you need more square footage. Tulsa International Airport, while simple is one of the cleanest and well maintained spirits I’ve seen. I can fly “direct” to DC, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and NYC - you can’t say that about every city this size. Good eateries from Arabic food, Italian, Mexican, American and French. Tulsa also experiences all 4 seasons. Severe weather is also possible but same can be said about other areas of the country. Large arts and art deco scene.
