Current Resident: The suburbs of Syracuse are a great place for families to live. Most suburbs are predominantly white, however, in the inner city it is predominantly minorities. Syracuse is one of the poorest cities in America, however, the suburbs are richer. I have family that lives in the inner city and it is a very dangerous place. Syracuse has definitely been gentrified over the past years especially with the building of the I-81 highway. Recently, the city council has acknowledged this division between white/high-income and minority/low-income and the city is investing millions of dollars for a new route to be built that benefits all communities. Current Resident: I absolutely love the neighbors I’m surrounded by. Everyone is so friendly. There are gas stations local bakery’s, local grocery stores, and a well now walking distance away. There’s transportation buses that regularly go by. I feel safe in my neighborhood and I know that I could get the help needed if something were to happen. Lyncourt has a great school district. It doesn't have a lot, but it's an awesome town if you're looking for a small town away from the busy city life to raise your family. There's plenty of safe, and friendly neighborhoods, and the school district is fantastic. There are a few stores that you can stop at right in town to purchase your basic needs. There are also gas stations that have relatively great prices. Our roads are shared with the bicycles (there are signs reminding people to share the road!) which is great in the spring, and summer months when you want to have a nice ride with your family.
