Current Resident: Germantown Hills is a small, safe community with friendly neighbors. Most of the community lives in newer homes. There are neighborhood watches and block parties for all to enjoy and feel comforted by. Most things are within walking distance. Newer cross-walks over main roadways have been implemented to promote safety for bikers, runners and children. New side-walks have been built to accommodate locals. There is a local small shopping center with Subway, Dollar General, Chinese food, Ace Hardware, Cefcu bank, Casey’s convenient store, another small bank and gas station. Current Resident: No community is perfect, and each community has its flaws. That being said, Morton is one of those communities that isn't perfect but is a community that is always willing to work on its flaws. Before living in Morton, I had lived in other communities that never took pride or a sense of ownership in their town. Unlike other towns, Morton has a sense of pride in their community. We all do our best to take care of each other, whether we know each other or not. I love how Morton includes and listens to the people in the town. With daily town meetings and with our Morton Facebook group, peoples complaints and issues in our community are heard and taken care of by those in charge. This town never stops improving itself for the better of our community and does everything to maintain the peace around here. There is nothing that I would want to change in my community.... Works Here: Nice shopping district over in the Levi district, there are decent living conditions and good little locally owned businesses to shop at. I, personally, wouldn't be out to late in that area after dark when there are no events as the people in Peoria across the river seem to wreck havoc on some of the stores & parking lots late at night. There are amazing places to eat, and plenty of main roads that connect to other smaller hometown communities to check out! Take the main roads and you can reach Washington, Germantown Hills, Morton or even go into the bustling city of Peoria. All are amazing places to check out and if you want a weekend getaway find a hotel in one of the smaller communities and travel around to the other towns (there all about maybe 20 - 45 minutes from each other depending where you land), escepically if you wanna come check out events like anime-con (held at the embassy suites, highly recommend), beer fest, fresh produce markets, art on the river and plenty more!...
