Current Resident: I absolutely love the location! Everything is nearby as well. If I can't walk to it the drive isn't more than 15 minutes. There's plenty places to visit and things to do, no matter what time of day. Always clean and the people are not only friendly and helpful, but abundantly diverse. I've met so many new friends and haven't had an issue with anyone or anything. The price of living in such a nice area is reasonable. On top of all that, cops are always making their rounds so I feel safer here than the bigger city nearby. I'd recommend this area to anyone of my friends and family.... Read 4 reviews

Current Resident: I have lived in Destrehan for 22 years, and I have made many lifelong friends from it. Because it is a small town, more meaningful friendships have been able to blossom. One thing I would love to see change in Destrehan is the food and shopping choices. Current Resident: St. Rose is a town where you can walk down the street without almost any fear. Yes we have our fair share of crime, but not much. Everyone here for the most part is friendly, and you can tell by just the wave of a hand. The school system here is one of the best in the state for public schools. ACT scores could be higher as an average, but the graduation rate is very up there. You have a well range of businesses in the area. You don't need to go that far to get what you need.... Current Resident: Lakeview is the safest neighborhood in New Orleans. Lakeview is only 15 minutes from the CBD and just minutes away from City Park where you can walk, run, rides bikes, and do many other activities! Lakeview has a local grocery store, lots of small restaurants and small businesses on Harrison Avenue which runs right in the middle of Lakeview. Lakeview is a quiet neighborhood of mostly families or married couples without children. The thing I would like changed about Lakeview are the roads. The roads in the Lakeview neighborhood are full of pot holes and construction signs without the construction workers. It is so sad to see our beautiful neighborhood littered with these pot holes.... Current Resident: I’ve lived in many states, first as a military brat, then traveling for a parent’s education, my education, and settling down with family. Lived in 2 neighborhoods in New Orleans prior to moving to Metairie . English Turn (gated community, formerly had stressful HOA situation, seems better now ), followed by the Lakeview neighborhood - which was okay because it had private security. Sadly, New Orleans remains an increasingly hot mess of crime. If dodging predators and potholes and horrible drivers are favorite pastimes, while paying astronomical property taxes, on top of buying security - and waiting hours to report getting slammed by subpar drivers or getting mugged - then move to New Orleans. You’ll be in heaven. If you want a neighborhood where people know their neighbors, watch out for each other and kids, have cameras, take no nonsense, where property taxes are reasonable, and where the sheriff is serious about keeping the peace - that’s Metairie.... Current Resident: I like the small town feeling of Luling. It's like everywhere you go, everyone knows you and you know everyone. This small town is full of life. Current Resident: Upon first moving to New Orleans we lived downtown and immediately began casing the city for the ideal neighborhood to live in. Of course the Garden District instantly appealed to us because of the safety, walkability, and access to grocery stores, cafes and proximity to the streetcar. Former Resident: This is a great neighborhood, for the most part people are welcoming and there is a strong sense of community. I grew up the area and moved back there when I had kids. As far as schools go, Lusher is the best public school in the area, but the high demand makes it rather difficult to get your kids in to that school. Overall, it’s still a great location. Current Resident: The town of Madisonville is a packed town full of different locations and people. I have enjoyed many special nights at their many wonderful restaurants and enjoyed working on the calories at the local gyms. My only concern is the people. Madisonville has a diverse range of people; however, they have shown to be predominately white and old. These3 qualities are not inherently bad; though many people in Madisonville are Karens or rambunctious teens. Niche User: As stated before, it is said to be the safest neighborhood in New Orleans. The homeowners in the area are all very well off with great careers including doctors and lawyers. Campus police is constantly doing rounds around the neighborhood since we are close to the broadway campus of Loyola and an elementary school.
