Nearby Resident: I have been commuting to and from Waverly for as long as I can remember. This small town, just outside of Lincoln, offers more than you could imagine. Athletics are a huge part of this supportive community. All parents are welcome to enter their children into athletics at any age. I personally started basketball for Waverly Vike Hoops when I was a third grader at Eagle Elementary School. Being exposed to future classmates gave me a great advantage moving into Middle School. Now I am part of one of the most supportive schools in Nebraska. The atmosphere surrounding any high school activity, from clubs to sports, continues to leave me speechless. Schooling at Waverly is offered from infant daycare all the way to High School. Also included in this small town are multiple gas stations, a vet clinic, parks, restaurants,and a grocery store. I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity of growing and learning in such a loving community.... Read 17 reviews

Current Resident: I've grown up in this town and go to college here as well. It is a very family based, college town small city but it is not far from Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs or KC. It's a good place to live and easy to commute to larger cities for work or events but is not extremely far away - geographically in a great location. I wish there were more activities to do in town for leisure time as well as more healthy locations to eat, but that's why the town is where it is so we can commute for those aspects.... Current Resident: I have grown up in Malcolm my whole life and went to school here since kindergarten. I highly recommend Malcolm to anyone who is looking for a small town with great neighborhoods and people all around. The community is amazing and is filled with smiling faces at all places. In Malcolm, there is a General Store that holds many essentials that you are able to purchase if you are in quick need of something. There is a post office right across the street and a brand new coffee shop, Brixstone, right next door to that. Someone recently purchased the car wash which by everything else, and that is up for use all year long. Malcolm Public School is a great community for students all around and there are fantastic teaching services provided as well. Current Resident: Valparaiso is the town I grew up it! its great growing up and being able to go to the park and get close with a group of friends. The small town has helped me make connections growing up. I do believe that Valparaiso could use some touch ups. Several years ago the town board talked about opening a pool, this didn't pass due not having the people to employ it. Seeing now, that teens in Valparaiso are looking for summer jobs, I believe that a pool would do a lot of good for Valparaiso. Not to mention, it would bring in money for the town.... Read 1 review
