Current Resident: Barboursville, WV is a small town but it has a variety of business and commerce. There is an abundance of chain stores and restaurants combined with locally owned businesses. We are also in close proximity to a State park that offers hiking, fishing, tennis, disc golf and sports fields. I love Barboursville because it gives you a small town feel with all the conveniences of a mid-sized city. If I could change something about Barboursville, I would like to see it promoted more as a tourist attraction. The town could use the revenue made from tourists to invest in future growth.... Current Resident: I've lived here for over a year and love it (for reference I'm from the Charleston area in WV). Ashland has a wonderful small town feel. There are plenty of places to eat, the schools are really nice, and people are super friendly. The town is very walker friendly as well. Central Park is beautiful, with a lot of people playing tennis, walking, and visiting the dog park. The park also does a Christmas light show that is gorgeous. They have an excellent library, which is one of the nicest around. The price of living is extremely low, and there are many beautiful and architectural homes. The gaming culture is huge here with Time Warp and Goblin Traders really close. I see people of all ages, and everyone has a smile on their face. A great place to live and have a family!... Current Resident: Coal Grove is such a small village in Ohio and it is one of the best villages in the area. We know how to be involved and support our local school Dawson-Bryant. Yes, we may be small and not have a lot to do, but that does not stop us from having the best pizza place in the region. Some of the best students or just the sense of a family community where everyone knows everyone. We know how to keep drugs away, how to party, and to go to church every Sunday. Current Resident: Great small town. Decently safe with low crime. Great place to raise a family. Not many jobs so settle here after you gain your success! There are 2 grocery stores no malls or Walmart but both malls and Walmart are just across the river in the next state over Kentucky roughly 15 minutes away so there is access to these places. We have a local Dollar General, Family Dollar, and Dollar Tree. We have several resteraunts and 2 hotels. There are not many places for recreation. We have a local skating rink/bowling alley and a theater where comedy shows are held occasionally. We have a small splash pad but no public pools. There is no movie theaters, arcades, or pool halls. Because we are located about 15 minutes to a larger city we do have access to an actual park, movie theater, arcade and thing I mentioned above but those thing are not local to Ironton. As you can tell, There are many options for minimum wage jobs but the opportunity for careers with big companies are very limited.... Read 15 reviews
