Sioux City
Current Resident: I love living in Sioux City, Iowa, however, the real estate taxes and business taxes are extremely high. Groceries and gas are reasonable, as are the utility bills. Rent is higher than it should be.
People are friendly and helpful, most of the time. It is not a very big town, so it seems that we all know one another.
There is a mall, but many of the shops have closed. There are only two places in the whole town that offer shopping for business attire, and it's limited. However, Omaha is only 90 minutes away and there's terrific shopping there.
People work very hard in Sioux City so there is a comradery in the working class, of which there is a lot! We have 3 packing houses (beef, pork, chicken), a fabulous candy factory, welders, a few call centers, and lots of excellent restaurants.... Read 216 reviews
