As the most educated city in America, A2 is full of sharp and highly intelligent people. These people tend to be very eccentric, youthful, and sometimes prickly or rude, regardless of age. It's a city of the forever young! Very walkable and dense in the urban center and stunningly beautiful everywhere you go. World-class dining, an incredibly diverse population, and a strong sense of community and optimism. Most of the population is incredibly wealthy which in turn makes living costs incredibly expensive for everyone else. However, living here is worth the price tag for the experience. Pro tip living here: take little trips into the real world (outside city lines) to give yourself a mental break sometimes. Current Resident: I have been living in Pittsfield Township for 3 years. Also lived in Ann Arbor for 2 years. Both are great places to live. Pittsfield is a 5 min drive to south from Ann Arbor and 5 min drive (or less) from Saline. Most of Pittsfield Township residents have Ann Arbor mailing addresses. Their school districts are either Ann Arbor or Saline, and both are top-rated. I personally prefer living in Pittsfield over AA because property tax was MUCH LESS while I could still enjoy the proximity to Ann Arbor. And I think Pittsfield is more family friendly, quieter and more spacious compared with Ann Arbor. Of course there were very nice neighborhoods in AA, but there are some shady spots as well, especially around where college kids live. Just look up criminal reports. Pittsfield Township cares a lot about its residents. Parks and trails are abundant and very well maintained. I feel very close to nature. Overall, I am extremely happy with where I live.... Current Resident: Growing up in Saline, MI has been a great privilege for me. I was very blessed to have grown up in a beautiful town such as Saline. The public school system in Saline is one of the best in the whole country. As a father to a three year old child, I feel comfortable raising my daughter in such a nice town. However, night life in Saline is limited, if you are looking for entertainment, then you need to check out Ann Arbor more so instead of Saline. Most of the local entertainment like movie theaters, malls, and ethnic restaurants are offered in Ann Arbor. Current Resident: I have always found Dexter to be a very welcoming and warm place to be. I grew up both in Dexter and Pinckney, which are about 15 minutes apart. No matter the situation I have always preferred Dexter over Pinckney just because of the community feeling. Dexter has definitely been growing, and expanding rapidly, but you still feel like you know a good number of people. Additionally, most of the people you meet are very friendly, and wouldn't mind helping you out if you ever needed something. The public school system in Dexter has been relatively good, it's not the greatest in some areas. But for a public school system, Id say it's above average. I think the schools could do a better job of hiring good quality teachers in certain departments, but I have found lots of teachers that are beyond amazing. In terms of diversity, Dexter Community Schools is certainly lacking. The last thing I really like about Dexter is that you're really close to Ann Arbor.... Read 11 reviews

Current Resident: I have lived here since 2014. I like the area due to diversity, the ability to find newer homes for a great price and the rural suburban feel. I would consider living here to be like a bedroom community. It is quiet, people look out for each other. You feel safe overall. There are walking trails, bike trails and various parks. The township also made a new walking and biking trail along side the major streets which is also a plus. There are also a few stores that are close by with some other stores planning to come to the area. There are various events held here like Jazz fest, Art fairs, trips for senior citizens and sports. Police and fire are also very responsive. Most people also keep up their properties. Property values have also increased while living here. Overall, I feel safe. Lots of people who live in Chelsea work in Ann Arbor in order to afford living here, as cost of living and the average price of homes has increased drastically over the past few years. The only possible way to avoid the extremely expensive housing market while still being in the school district is to live upwards of ten miles out of town, where most of the roads are dirt. My graduating class of a few years ago consisted of about 200 people, the vast majority of which were white. Chelsea is a very sheltered town that seems to avoid the turbulence of the outside world, which can be taken as a positive or negative thing. I swim a couple times a week, play frisbee, have my family over, and grill down by the lake. I also love ice skating on the lake during the winter. I live next to a coney island and a bowling alley so this is really fun as well. What I don't like about Whitmore Lake is that it is very conservative. Also, there is not much around where I live.
