Current Resident: Germantown, WI, (suburb of Milwaukee, WI) is a typical suburban town. Look on any Disney show that portrays a suburban family and Germantown is most likely like it. A lot of Germantown is farm and fields, but the areas with stores are populated with other stores similar, creating popular hang out spots that are convenient for grocery/food shopping. It also has many parks with a variety of park-like activities, like play sets, walking paths, water splash pads, etc. Would say it is safe with very little to no crime. Good school and education system (as a student). Surrounded by many cool nearby towns that have other cool things.... Read 42 reviews

Current Resident: Richfield is a very safe town with amazing schools. Graduates from Friess Lake and Richfield schools (now combined) flood the honor roll and high honor roll lists at local high schools. Richfield also has great parks with youth soccer, softball, and baseball programs. Its proximity to I-41 allows faster commute times to Milwaukee and other surrounding suburbs while allowing more suburban living in which homes are nicely spaced out for more privacy. The community is extremely safe and supportive of its neighbors. The only arguable issue is that Richfield lacks shopping and restaurants, but it is very close to Germantown, Menomonee Falls, and West Bend all of which have plenty of places to go with the added benefit of keeping Richfield's crime and busyness with traffic to a minimum.... Current Resident: I love Hartford, and am sadly moving due to work. I have lived here 6+ years and it has been a dream. I cannot speak for the school system, as my daughter is not old enough to attend yet, but I know it is good. Police/Emergency Staff and city administration are top notch. They care about their community. They respond and help in any way possible. Police have come door to door to talk with neighbors to try and solve petty issues that happen within a community - and it solved them! I owned a business in the downtown and the heart that beats in Hartford is there. Business owners care about their community and about the happenings of the city. Other places to note are the huge, beautiful, Jack Russel Memorial Library, Rec Center, new outdoor pool/water park, Schauer Arts Center, Wisconsin Auto Museum and Pike Lake State Park, just to name a few. Current Resident: I recently moved to West Bend almost two years ago and love everything about it. I love how quiet it is, our neighbors, all the events, our downtown area, and even the new construction going on. They are really growing here by adding different breweries and restaurants. I am excited about our downtown area, which is currently under construction. Additionally, they are constantly opening new shops and vendors. There are so many festivals, fundraisers, and events for not just families but everyone. Our library alone has a generous amount going on. Current Resident: Love this small community. The Community Center is amazing and our kids have so many activities they can choose from right here in Jackson! Baseball/Softball through JAYBA, or Soccer through the Jackson Soccer Club. They can ski or tube in the next town over. Niche User: The area has a very home-like feel. It's a small community so most people know each other. The area is beautiful during all of the seasons. I would like to live somewhere like this area because I enjoy rural areas. The city can be too busy for me and I like to enjoy quietness once in a while. It is a very old town so it isn't entirely up to date, but I still find it a great place for families to live. I have not traveled much, and the places I have traveled are all to cities so I can't compare it to other rural places in the country.
