Current Resident: Waterbury is a small suburb of Burlington, Vt. It has been a great place to grow up. We are located in between three major ski areas and the home to the Ben and Jerry's ice cream factory. In fact, I'm a tour guide there! We have world-renowned mountain biking trails and people come from all over the world to become "leaf-peepers" for a few days in the Fall. Waterbury is the kind of town that supports local schools, goes to sporting events to cheer each other on (even when their own children have graduated!) and is a safe, idyllic place to grow up and raise a family.... Current Resident: East Montpelier is one of the best places to live in Central Vermont. Living in East Montpelier gives you nearly all of the perks of living in Montpelier, but you also get a gorgeous country setting with more land, exposure to spectacular wildlife, and newer houses with updated features. Most homes are within minutes to shopping and restaurants in downtown Montpelier and/or Barre. East Montpelier also is home to two of my favorite places in Vermont - Bragg Farm (maple creemees) and Peck Farm (apple orchard). East Montpelier has some of the most spectacular views of the Green and White Mountains and has year-round trails for hiking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. The residents in East Montpelier are super friendly and the desirable U-32 school district has a great reputation. Current Resident: I really like Duxbury Vt because I can go into the town of Waterbury and hangout with my friends but also I live out of the way a bit so it’s quieter. I live across from my old middle school which allowed me to walk to school and get in good exercise. Everyone is super friendly in the area and it’s very easy for me to walk or drive to the store. I can snowboard at Sugarbush or Stowe in the winter and swim at the reservoir in the summer. The things I would like to see change in Duxbury would have to be more town events. During our farmers markets we have concerts in the park that are wonderful and I think we should have more of them. I also think we should re-do some of the playgrounds at schools to be more entertaining. Duxbury maybe a small town but since it’s so close with Waterbury, they feel like they are the same and do a lot of shared activities together.... Read 2 reviews

Current Resident: I love it here! It has the best of both worlds. A rural feel and Montpieler minutes away as well as shopping centers. Current Resident: Small town, few accidents or absurd events. The university in town keeps things interesting with sports games and events relating to the Military college itself. Current Resident: I was born in Vermont, raised in Warren (the next town over). When I was in junior high I moved to Massachusetts to live with my father. After graduating high school I moved back to Vermont, then back to Massachusetts. I repeated doing so multiple times until I realized that my heart and soul belong in Waitsfield with the green mountains and the Mad River that flows through the Mad River Valley. The greatest part about Waitsfield is that it is a small town, you cannot go anywhere without seeing someone you know. We joke about how the sidewalks 'roll up' around 9 pm, meaning that everything in town closes around that time. We have no stoplights here, which is very nice, except for fall foliage season when all the leaf peepers come to visit, or when the ski area is open during winter. I recommend Waitsfield as a place to visit for anyone looking to connect with nature. In the end, it was the mountains, rivers, and small-town living that brought me home time and time again.... Current Resident: Cabot has a wonderful, small school system with teachers that care about their students. In addition, the community is generous and cares for one another like a family.
