Current Resident: Overall, this is a nice place to retire, however, not the cheapest. The weather is good, not great. In winter, the temperature will drop in the twenties, but will hover around 40's- 50's, with occasional snow that melts in a day. Hot weather will begin in late May, with temperatures in the upper nineties to over 105 almost every single day until late September. The red mountain scenery is nice, but I miss the green scenery where I came from. The politics in this area is conservative which suits me fine, however, I am finding that some people here are unreliable in business dealings, especially when you are looking to have some work done on your house. Prices for quotes are all over the place, so be careful. Just because someone is Mormon, does not not mean they are honest. I have found some excellent businesses, who are honest and LDS, but I shopped around. I am doing well as a non Mormon here and people are friendly, but I am friendly as well.... Read 60 reviews

Current Resident: The heat can be very overwhelming in the Summer. Especially if your AC goes out in your car or home. Have some money saved away for WHEN this happens. Aside from that I love the natural and architectural beauty here! I feel like the city works hard to make each area welcoming and pleasant to be at. I love the libraries and parks and multiple walking/adventure trails around. The cool mountains are close and so are the man-made reservoirs making it easy to have a lake day. I also LOVE going out to eat and there are countless adorable little restaurants to try. I wish the theaters were a little more glamorous but they don’t feel old and are surely pleasant. Current Resident: It's a very nice small town. Most of the people here are kind and many are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There isn't much to do here compared to bigger cities, however there is hiking, four-wheeling, and riding horses. Current Resident: Absolutely beautiful! It's close to national and state parks and is a great place to be year round. Local events such as the Apple Festival and 4th of July celebrations are fun, and for a small town, having a Post Office, Library, and Fire Department are all pluses. Former Resident: Dammeron Valley was the perfect place for me to grow up. My family moved when I was about to turn eight years old, so naturally I was nervous to move to a new place. However, the nerves soon faded. I attended school at Diamond Valley Elementary, the nearest elementary school. The school was tiny and the classrooms were few. However, everyone - both teachers and students - were so kind. It was at elementary school that I met my new friends. Some may think that because Dammeron Valley is detached from St. George city it would be hard to find anything "fun" to do as a kid. That is false. Although Dammeron Valley is not located in the city, it is located in the mountains. Instead of sitting and playing video games or watching TV for hours on end, my friends and I played outside. We rode bikes, hiked, climbed, built forts, and even camped...when our parents gave permission. Looking back on the ten years I lived in Dammeron Valley, I am happy to have been raised there....
