Parent: The curriculum is strong, with students working above grade level in many subjects. Teachers set high expectations and then help each child achieve those goals in a warm and nurturing environment. Each day students’ folders are filled with the work that they have completed so that parents can be informed of their child’s progress. Any obstacles are handled at early stages and the child is treated with the utmost respect every step of the way. The emphasis on STEAM is helping to prepare students for a successful future. Every member of the staff knows each kid--not only their names, but their individual personalities. Additional benefits of ACE include smaller class sizes, character development, a uniform that minimizes drama in the mornings, responsive staff, and an exceptional facility. Senior: I'm a "lifer" at Shorecrest, having been here since Alpha. My experience with the school is perhaps different from students now since there have been many changes both faculty/administration-wise as well as with the newest buildings on campus. Shorecrest introduced me to reading at a very young age. I'm very grateful for that. The quality of education that I have and am receiving is top notch. Middle school prepared me very well for upper school, and now, as a graduating senior, I feel quite confident in my academic abilities. Teachers are just fantastic. The theater and athletics programs are excellent. As a small school, students have the opportunity to be deeply involved in a number of programs, ranging from service clubs to sports to the annual Spring Musical. Being able to do a range of things is important as it allows students to forge their own path by testing different areas out and seeing how they like them.
