Parent: We enrolled our son in Fork Union Military Academy after seeing so many YouTube videos that touted the benefits of the one-subject program and the school. The promise of focus, structure, and accomplishment came through. He passed all his classes in this, his first year, a sophomore at FUMA. We took advantage of their academic success program. There he found continuous support and cheers! They found novel approaches to reach him, took the time to learn about him, and flexed their approaches. I have been concerned in the past about the ability of teachers who are not Black to 'see my son' as an individual. At FUMA, they know him, challenge him to be his best, hold him accountable, and motivate him. I am proud of what he has done this year. As a testament to the place, he is looking forward to going back in the Fall - he's proud that he's earned a promotion in rank and knows he can do even better academically. Amazing.... Parent: My daughter began attending St. Bernadette School in the 7th Grade following our move to Northern Virginia. We couldn't be more pleased with her experience. The teachers, staff, student and parents are dedicated, kind, and caring. They helped her transition to a rigorous Catholic education, including first-time instruction in religion, grammar, cursive, and Spanish. Parent: We have one daughter in K at NPS (she started in nursery). We love NPS and could not be happier with our choice! She has been through so much change these past several years and it’s impossible to overstate how much social emotional growth and support she’s experienced at NPS. She’s also had tremendous academic growth and is reading, writing, doing simple math, is curious about the world and loves learning. Probably my favorite part about the school are the wonderful specials — my daughter loves the singing, art, music, drama, sports. She even comes home talking about what it means to be a good person based on the core values that are woven through the school lessons and chapels.
