The amenities include golf, the lake & beaches, the swimming pool, tennis courts, etc. and the Greenview restaurant/bar (which supports the fun summer bands/parties.). Current Resident: As a 30-something year old living in Kelseyville, I enjoy the quiet atmosphere that this small town offers. I've always felt safe and treated well by my neighbors. The annual Pear festival in town is fun and fireworks on the lake are a BLAST! Everything does shut down early so the nightlife can be non-existent but they do have enough 24 hour casinos nearby to accommodate that. Overall it is a great town to live in.... Read 23 reviews

Current Resident: If you live in the hills it’s very beautiful and peaceful, the people up here are kind and friendly, kinda like in the Andy Griffith show, when you walk down the street the people in the cars wave at you. Most People move here because it’s cheap living compared to the rest of the state, very few move here for the fishing. The county being so far from civilization tends to have more undesirables than other nearby county’s The entire county is definitely not a good choice to raise children but if you are looking to retire, this is the place to do it... Current Resident: Lucerne offers wonderful landscapes and a fresh air feeling. Orchards and livestock included in this rustic country setting. Clearlake is a vast body of water which acts as a fishing hole for many different species of birds. The people and cities could use some updating to help transition into a more viable place. Unfortunately, the lake suffers from extreme mercury poisoning which had turned a once frequent vacationing spot into one of the poorest counties in California. Overall, I like living in Lucerne, the open space and change of pace are helpful in improving quality of life.... Read 3 reviews

Current Resident: Besides the natural beauty of the lake and mountains, the people are very honest. It's a small town feel, and people returned lost wallet, lost mail, etc. Of course, there are bad elements in town, but expected everywhere California. I certainly would not have gotten back my wallet and mail in a larger town. I've lived in the largest cities in the world and Clearlake is the best for quiet, solitude, nature, clean air, stars at night...well that depends on where in Clearlake you live :-)...
