Current Resident: My wife went HS here and came back to care for her mother. She decided she wanted to escape the cold and we looked into moving. The housing market is very active and you need to move quickly. There is a lot of overpriced housing, but some good options in the $250K-$400K range. “Beachside” living is overpriced. We opted for a new community approx. 10-15 min from the beach. Traffic is manageable, but drive defensively due to many elderly/bad drivers. The shopping is decent, but some consider pricey. VB is striving to keep a small town feel and they were smart to limit construction height to 35 feet. There is not much industry here and Indian River and would not make a career move here, if I didn’t have a job lined up. If you can work remotely, VB is a great option. If you are looking for a nice place to retire where you have good infrastructure and access to beautiful beaches, and the Indian River, then I would encourage looking into VB…and its a very Veteran friendly community!... Former Resident: I love the weather and enjoying each day with my family out in the sun picking orange's, swimming at the Beach and having family BBQ. I Love how helpfully my neighbors were when I moved to stay with my aunt and uncle making me feel at home when I got home sick missing my family back home, and the Christmas season. Current Resident: I love living here in Sebastian, with so many friendly people. I enjoy the quaint setting, as it is a smaller town sandwiched between two larger cities, Palm Bay and Vero Beach. I love my home and am very grateful to have been able to find an affordable location for my family in this adorable little town. I hope this city remains low in population density in relation to the neighboring Floridian areas. The restaurants are unique in their offerings; the food is exceptional.
