Current Resident: Although there isn’t all too much to do in terms of entertainment in the immediate area, there are a good amount of restaurants and great people. Along with the good things in VA, there are also major towns like Mckinny, Sherman, and Plano in the surrounding areas that all yield nice entertainment and good foods. Current Resident: It is a very small "everybody knows everybody" town. Job opportunities are limited, but people don't move here for work. They move to Pottsboro for the education and for the community. Lake Texoma is right down the road and makes for great family and friend gatherings. The drive to local grocery stores or restaurants is a short fifteen to twenty minute drive. Meeting new people can be difficult at times, but going to the Friday night football games is an easy sure way to meet at least three other new families to connect with.... Read 15 reviews

Current Resident: I am currently a college student, I love Denison was a great place to grow up in. The love of Friday night football is the best. We just won the 11 repeat on the BOTA against Sherman, one of the longest football rival in the state of Texas. Awesome!! There is a great sense of pride and love for the Gold and Black. There are wonderful activities for the city, from movies to music in the park - there are festivals with a lot of vendors and artists, it not just Denison but the surrounding area that have their yearly town festivals that are great to enjoy. We have the beautiful Texoma Lake that is a refreshing during the hot summer nights, to be with friends and family with a bonfire to enjoy the starry night under the moon. Denison has everything that one would want there are plenty of shopping and food venues. The state of the art sport center and have great medical facility in the North Texas.
