Current Resident: Upland is a good town with little to no violence or crime. Taylor University is a major employer and many in the community have something to do with it. Eastbrook is a decent school system, especially if you like football. The houses that are put on the market quickly get bought. The community is really good. Current Resident: A cute little town, with not too much to do. I liked the privacy of being away from my classmates in high school but having enough people around to connect. I absolutely love the spot on Main Street, where you can park and start walking on the Switch trail, get ice cream, or sit on a picnic bench under the canopy. This area of the town feels intimate and sweet, reading some of the dedications on the benches and seeing many dogs and a few familiar faces. In small towns often the way to connect with your community is through the church. I myself do not attend church in this community and so the small, barely existent area of this town where it seems like you can remember other people live their lives here too is a very nice area. Growing up I did not like how disconnected my neighborhood was. There was no sidewalk along the highway and so I could not reach my friends in different areas of this town. I would like to see more small businesses and spaces being used.... Read 4 reviews

Current Resident: I think Gas City is a good place to be, even with not that big of a population, people still come together to have a good time with Ducktail Run, 4th of July, and so much more. Most people here sometimes go out on a walk and drive around the city and maybe even just come here to visit. The city used to be called Harrisburg but since a rise of natural gas was found it was renamed to Gas City, but sooner or later the gas was taken away but the name stuck! The town really is getting its help from its neighbors Jonesboro, Upland, and Marion, which Marion is where people go to get the shopping done. Overall this small town is a nice place to live even if there is not much but country outside of it.... Read 17 reviews

We have opened a coffee shop called The Branch as a place for families and friends to gather. A boutique called the Timber & Thread Co. They sell clothing, furniture, and the store also hosts events such as spa days and other get togethers. It is not uncommon to see kids walking to the gas station or park, or out riding their bikes. It is a good, safe place to raise a family. Current Resident: In the time I've lived in Fairmount, there have been numerous improvements made to the community to make it better. A coffee shop, The Branch, moved in and brought the community together. The Branch is a place for people to gather while they have a bite to eat or drink a coffee. We also got a grant that we were able to use to improve to the safety of the community: redoing the sidewalks, adding new lamp posts, etc. Fairmount has flourished since everything has been remodeled....
